These are literally the same people who use "soy" as a slur.

[ST: DISCO S1 spoilers, but come on, it's been 8 years, you've had enough time to watch it by now] New theory: divergence point between our universe and the mirror universe is that Grok actually DID replace Wikipedia.
A still from Star Trek: Discovery of Captain Gabriel Lorca. Caption is "Alongside the Wright Brothers, Elon Musk, Zefram Cochrane?"

My copy of #WinterRabbit just arrived, and I can't wait to play it!
A boxed board game entitled Winter Rabbit/ᎪᎳ ᏥᏍᏚ. The cover of the box has a rabbit drawn in a traditional Cherokee style, standing on its hind legs.

Interspersed with the fawning over this guy's oppression complex is a glowing description of seeming utopia Carmel, IN. The article never mentions the city's racial makeup, but since it's such a great place, I assumed it was open to all people. Imagine my surprise when I looked up the census data!
Table containing demographic data for Carmel, Indiana. 2020 census lists 75.72% White alone (Non-Hispanic), 3.26% Black or African American alone (Non-Hispanic), 0.07% Native American or Alaska Native alone (Non-Hispanic), 12.00% Asian alone (Non-Hispanic), 0.02% Pacific Island alone (Non-Hispanic), 0.45% Other race alone (Non-Hispanic), 3.95% Mixed race or Multiracial (Non-Hispanic), 4.53% Hispanic or Latino (any race)

The fascism-laundering NYT is at it again. This piece gushes about the novel idea that conservative Christians are an oppressed minority without once pointing out that they've had outsized influence in American politics for at least four decades.
A bald white man dressed in a suit jacket and shirt (But no tie! Look how hip he is!) sits with his hands folded under his chin and stares off into the distance. He is doing his best to look like a person who has Serious Thoughts. Underneath, a headline reads “He Gave a Name to What Many Christians Feel”, with this synopsis: “And the feeling isn't good. Aaron Renn has gained a following by warning that the U.S. is currently a ‘negative world’ for Christianity.”

Mood:
The Second Coming

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Me listening to "Digital Love" by Daft Punk on #XPNCountdown: "This kind of sounds like 'Dreamer'", so I dug around and found this:
Text from an article about Discovery:
"In at least one instance on Discovery, Daft Punk used a vintage keyboard to evoke a specific artist from another era. 'On "Digital Love," you get this Supertramp vibe on the bridge,' remarks de Homem-Christo. 'We didn't sample Supertramp, but we had the original Wurlitzer piano they used, so we thought it would be more fun to have the original instrument and mess around with it. We use mainly vintage synthesizers, like older electric pianos like the Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinet. We didn't use the Clavinet on Discovery, but I usually use it in my studio.' Effects units the duo used include a DP-4 and an Eventide Ultra-Harmonizer."
