We are proud to announce the release of our (ACL 2026 Oral) benchmark, VeriTaS, for measuring the fact-checking capabilities of LLM agents! In a world of growing fake news, we believe that the ability to verify claims is critical. VeriTaS is multimodal, multilingual, and made of real-world claims.

The redeeming feature is that this price is paid only once.
Right, you don't need error bars on error bars.
Probabilistic uncertainty about uncertainty collapses. This is the “monadic join” in probability.
Instead of a coin with random bias p ∼ π, you can flip a coin with the deterministic bias μ.
Just take μ = E[p].

"the new toaster says 'I Love You' when you put the toast in, and 'I'm Sorry' when it burns it. This causes some people to get angry b/c they don't think the toaster means it, and others to develop unhealthy attachments b/c they think it does. the solution is to make the toaster TRULY sorry"

Wrapping up my first week as a PhD candidate with @hessianai.bsky.social. I got to know very welcoming and smart people working on Multimodal AI in Marcus Rohrbach's lab. What role will Probabilistic Circuits play in a multimodal world? @kerstingaiml.bsky.social Really excited for what's ahead!

I think we should be building systems that complement people; systems that do well the things that people do poorly; systems that make individuals and organizations more effective and more humane. 3/

Horizontal, vertical, hybrid data partitioning: heterogeneity is tough to handle in federated learning! 🔥In “Scaling Probabilistic Circuits via Data Partitioning" - accepted at #UAI25 - we unify the different settings through aggregation of learned client distributions: arxiv.org/abs/2503.08141

Happy to see our work at TMLR! We systematically show the relationships between two apparently different fields: tensor factorizations and circuits, and how bridging the two enables us to exchange results, research opportunitie in ML, and practical implementation solutions.

When building human allied AI systems, it is imperative to think of who is in control. In our blue sky paper at #AAAI, we argue that a deeper understanding of whether human is in the loop or if AI is in the loop is essential! arxiv.org/pdf/2412.14232
