Spent the last few days putting together a backburner idea that finished cooking. Minerva was the name for my monhun character until Wilds didn't bring her hairstyle and makeup over (at least before TU3~4 came out). Stream is my Wilds hunter, so Minerva's graduated to a proper OC. Hairstyle pending?

Every time I've moved I ran into the problem of doubling down on getting work that would lead to a real bad crash and burn that took far too long to recover from. Make sure you force yourself to take time to explore your new neighborhood so you don't isolate yourself under the work rock.

It's worse when you have to sidle instead of it just being automatic, especially when you can't leave the passage by backtracking upon entering the crag. Resident Evil having the door opening animation was the right way to do it.

Another classic, not sure if I've already posted this one here.

I legit gave the show more leway than I would 'cause there was enough people with opinions I could respect saying they really enjoyed it to the point of recommending it to me. This show sucks, and I found myself thinking it every few minutes. It feels like an algorithm wrote the script. 3/10 no rec.

Against my better judgement I checked out the third episode through dinner. Watching the show and realizing all of the cool and interesting parts that people liked are literally ONLY in the first three episodes. Also haha they somehow managed to double-kill both characters I was interested in???

Oh right, I'm also getting marred by the modern day Netflix experience where there's ads every literal 10 minutes of the episode. Back when the show was first airing it was just a solid hour and some change of nonstop anemoia. It's just feeding into the fomo of what can't be brought back.

Also the 'bad guys with guns' being comic evil and chaotic stupid just to enable the plot is already tiring. Sure they're basically a government conspiracy cel, but the agent killing a witness before having eyes on her target is so laughably idiotic for a group depicted as thorough and disciplined.

Also far too much 'tell, don't show' happening when there's some actively excellent scenes and shots that are doing 'show, don't tell' in a superb manner. There's such a missed opportunity to set up foreshadowing with the D&D campaign given they literally did that for the first spark of the plot.

Scene direction keeps cutting mid-step to another scene with a different tone just to go back to the previous scene or conversation. It works when there's travel time to accommodate for the distraction, but not so much when that travel time is from the second floor of a house to its basement.

Two episodes into Stranger Things and I'm getting the feeling that it got popular because it was a blend of vaporwave faux nostalgia and Big Bang Theory's deal where the writing is meant to appeal towards people who are explicitly not being depicted... or worse; ready player one marks.

Looking at the clouds for answers today. (Was trying to post this almost seven hours ago but bluesky wasn't letting me at the time)

Maybe I just go back to not expecting to make a living wage. I could drop the prices for my comms to be more affordable in exchange for just burning out from being overworked again, or try yet another potential avenue that goes nowhere.

That or I just hold my own art hostage and turn toxic.
