Im glad the right can finally acknowledge the value of cancel culture. If you're a racist, a bigot, etc. You have the freedom of speech, but you shouldn't be employed anywhere if you're going to say it.

Minnesota and Wisconsin congress members have lost their damn minds lmao. To pretend it's Canada's fault for wildfires or the smoke that happens to drift into the US is a joke. This is like writing to Mexico about sending wet air that makes hurricanes
An official letter from Tom Tiffany and Brad Finstead warning the Canadian government to do more about their wildfires because Americans are having to deal with the smoke

17. What a fucking joke. "He said we couldn't arrest all of them, so that's how I knew it was a conspiracy" what a fucking loon. 15. Also shows that the guy that locked the gate wasn't the one they arrested. If you knew it was illegal, why did they wait and arrest someone else?
17. I asked HUERTA to move away from the gate because he was impeding law enforcement access into and out of the premises. HEURTA responded "what are you going to do, you can't arrest all of us". This indicated to me that he and the others had planned in advance of arrival to disrupt the operation.

I proudly stand with the ICE protestors in LA and am exactly as nervous as the other commentators pointing out this is likely a precursor for martial law. So a reminder to everyone that every single person involved in these scenarios is a human and they are worth more than property. Life > stuff
I don't know who needs to hear this, but ICE kidnapping people and trafficking them into slavery is FAR worse than the property damage caused by the protestors who are trying to stop it.

"pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and lack of empathy". Those are the definitional standards, unless you'd like to provide better ones. So let's break it down. Trump is absolutely grandiose about the Russia war, "it never would've happened if I was president, ended on day 1"
self-importance, fantasies of success, a belief in being "special," a need for admiration, a sense of entitlement, exploitative behavior, lack of empathy, and envy

Ngl, I think this would be a violation of their rights, but also the funniest and most well deserved shit I could imagine. It is baffling how many closeted gay reps there are. I'm pretty sure I remember Grindr usage spiking during the RNC. They all deserve the humiliation of their hypocrisy
Whoa! Grindr just announced that due to the anti-LGBTQ legislation, they will be releasing a list of all of their users who have donated to republican campaigns.

Kidding! But to anyone who just felt some panic, that's called hypocrisy you self hating bigoted trash

I feel like you are being beyond vague compared to the detailed explanations I've attempted to give you. Your linked article seems somewhat misleading as it doesn't appear to "eliminate the right" at all; in fact many provisions talk about how to handle a live hearing. It removes the Requirement
eliminate the right to a live hearing to contest the allegations;
eliminate the right to cross-examine one’s accuser and witnesses;
weaken the right to be represented by lawyers in campus sexual misconduct expulsion proceedings; and
allows for the return of the “single-investigator” model, in which a single administrator serves as prosecutor, judge, and jury

In light of recent events, I think it's time we once again talk about removing the US from the G7, and adding some new counterparts. South Korea, Australia, and Brazil all recently elected strong, virtuous by comparison leaders, and they would be good additions. The US tarriffed every G7 country
Trump frames pushing Russia out of the G8 as a bad thing, which means it must have been done by the left. Meanwhile, both things are untrue, it's actually one of the only good things conservatives have ever done, and it's time Canada does it again to the US

Yelling into the void for the 8 millionth time about just how fucking stupid this man is. Everything is the fault of the left. It's a cult. Even IF they're right on some points, you can't even tell which ones they are cause it's so smeared in shit. I can't wait til he croaks and it collapses
Trump blames Trudeau for pushing Russia out of the G8, during a Harper government, because nothing can ever be a republican(Conservative)'s fault.

I'll hide the full quote in the alt text of this picture, as it's just too long.
On an issue that is as fundamental as how we constitute who represents us and who gets to govern our country, it is essential that this process be free from politics and any partisan influence and interests. Political parties will be biased in any recommendation they offer. Parties such as the Conservatives, which have shown that they cannot work with other parties, will want to keep the first-past-the-post system so that they can shoot for a majority and impose their minority will on Canadians. Big tent parties such as the Liberal Party would seek some sort of a ranked ballot, so parties that appeal broadly get rewarded. Single-issue parties such as the Greens will want proportional representation, so a smaller vote share in many ridings across the country will lead to their having greater representation. We know that the NDP is in favour of mixed member proportionality, where it would be able to leverage some single-issue, single-stakeholder matters, as well as taking advantage of some regional strengths. Of course, the Bloc would likely prefer to keep the system as it is right now, as they have much greater representation than their vote share at this point.

2 months ago, I posted this completion of the Trump Lunacy Circuit. Today, it could not be more true. It started with deport everyone, it ended with grabbing people off the streets and throwing them in El Salvador no due process. It started with 10% tariffs. China is at 145%. The cycle repeats

Might have to click to read, but this encompasses my pages vibe. There isn't a problem that isn't worth addressing. It takes mental energy, and you might not always have that in the moment. But pretending problems that aren't yours don't exist is antithetical to what it means to be human. To care
"Not my problem" is a cowardly thing to say about social issues.

A truly strong member of society strives to care about the physical and mental struggles of those around them.

This is an important discussion. In the 1950's, approximately 5 years household income could afford a house (this was back when less than 30% of women were working). I don't know what the new reasonable should be. I think expecting 1950s standards is too high, but this seems fair.
Controversial but if I work a full time job I should be able to live in a one bedroom apartment by myself and not starve myself to make rent.

No new info here, but Elon Musk is snitching on himself hard when he points this out. He's basically telling us what he would do if he were them, because he assumes that's what they'd do. Obviously there's no policy that points to this as truth, just blabbering old man out of touch with reality

It blows my mind that this has taken even this long to catch on. People get riled when they're told they have a mandatory tip on their bill. This, the exact same practice, is somehow heroic. Both should be basic standards, not demonized or applauded. Pay your employees fairly
A restaurant in Austin Texas attempting to lead the charge in the US on fair wages in restaurants. Sign reads:
To create a liveable wage for front and back of house employees, we factored the cost of labor into menu prices. This policy ensures employees are paid better per hour than industry standards, are provided with benefits, and can maintain financial stability.

As a result, tipping is not expecting.
Thank you for supporting fair wages

CEO's marginal income tax rate should be close to 90% over 1M, like it was before trickle down economics. And a companies tax rate should be tied to the ratio between CEO salary and the lowest paid employee. 50:1? 25% 100:1? 50% 200:1? 90% CEOs can single handedly lower their taxes by paying fair

To any of my Canadian followers: supporting the Canada post strike is both incredibly easy and the right thing to do. 40% of their workforce is a part time or temporary worker, despite full time hours. Meaning no benefits. New employees get stocks instead of a pension. Support the strike
A canada post letter carrier salary was $18/hr in 1988. 30 years later, it's only increased to $30/h, only a $12 increase. Just matching inflation, their wage should be close to $40/h.

If the US, Canada, Germany, China, India, and Russia, could all agree on a relatively fair billionaire tax bracket, they wouldn't have many places to go. A billionaire exodus means nothing if we cut off their safe haven countries, and leaving would mean no access to good global markets

Another amazing point by Robert Reich. There are plenty of companies making way less than Amazon that have ALL staff paid more than $20 an hour. For most locations in the US, that is a minimum living wage. Billionaires are an error in policy, not a success goal. Raise taxes, raise min wage
Robert Reich.

"Amazon and Walmart are the largest US companies by both revenue and number of employees.

But 87% of jobs for Amazon and 91% of jobs for Walmart pay less than $20/hr.

Meanwhile Jeff Bezos is worth $229B and the Walton family is worth roughly $270B. See the problem yet?"
