Gloria Steinem has passed away. Long ago, my parents used to force me to go to church each Sunday. One time the pastor made a comment about "people who were destroying America, like Carl Sagan and Gloria Steinem." I liked Carl Sagan. Gloria Steinem was new to me. I took it as a recommendation.

I feel the same way about almost all positions of power, especially those that come with permission to use violence "if necessary." Corollary 1: anyone who wants to be a police officer, is probably disqualified. Corollary 2: same for anyone who WANTS to be a soldier (as opposed to willing to be one)
