Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 10/11/2025He’s not even trying to give a rip about anything or anybody but die-hard MAGA. If I had an issue I needed to call on my congressman for, would he care or not? We’re definitely not left-wing extremists. He’s supposed to represent us all. 010
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 10/11/2025We got a Tim Burchett letter in the mail this weekend. He's wasting his money here as we are not Burchett fans at all, but look at the language in this. He doesn't even pretend to care about people in his district who aren't MAGA. @thetnholler.bsky.social Let me know if you want the full PDF. 030
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 12/08/2025Periodical reminder that the reason we all feel like everybody thinks we suck at everything we try to do is because of imposter syndrome and it’s probably not true. I mean mostly that reminder is for me because whew it’s been a hard few days. 😭 260
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 10/08/2025I climbed 300 feet at the rock gym on Tuesday, 400 on Thursday, and I’m hoping for 500 today. So far, I’m still on track to get the mile by August 31! 050
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 06/08/2025Yes! We all have tally sheets where we are keeping track, and there’s a map to tell you how high each section of wall in the gym is. 010
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 05/08/2025I'm trying vertical mile at the rock gym again this year. It's exactly what it sounds like -- climbing a total of 5,280 feet in the gym by August 31. Last year I failed miserably. Hoping for victory this time! 140

Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 13/06/2025🧵10 Let Niemöller's life serve as a cautionary tale to you. Things were fine for him until he asked questions and pushed back. He benefited from the system until he didn't fall in line, and it metaphorically ate him alive. We know history repeats itself. We are watching it in real time. 230

Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 13/06/2025🧵8 He was liberated when the Americans arrived at the Austrian camp where he was housed in the 1940s. When he wrote the poem in 1946, he FINALLY understood that hate, silence, and complicity had been the dead wrong choice. 140
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 13/06/2025🧵7 It's likely he was still an antisemite at the time of his arrest, but his other political views are what landed him in a concentration camp. He towed the party line, he hated the "right" people but when he did push back, he became a political prisoner and spent years in a concentration camp. 120
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 13/06/2025🧵6 That actually happened. By the mid 1930s, Niemöller began pushing back on the nazi party. According to the Holocaust Encyclopedia, Niemöller was arrested twice as he preached against the dictatorship and their attempts to get involved in church matters. 120
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 13/06/2025🧵5 So how did his thinking transition? What caused him to pen the "First they came for" poem in the aftermath of World War II? The poem ends with "Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me." 130
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 13/06/2025🧵4 Get this, Niemöller was a raging antisemite. In the 1930s, as Hitler rose to power, Niemöller was a big fan. He fell in line with the political party. He preached that Jews deserved whatever they got because they had killed Christ. 120
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 13/06/2025🧵3 But who wrote it? I looked it up. It was written by Martin Niemöller, a Lutheran pastor and German nationalist The poem is a confession of how Niemöller and his fellow clergy members and other "good guys" in society didn't do anything to fight back as the nazis rose to power. 130

Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 30/04/2025The hard thing will be keeping it from being too crowded at one time. I'm comfortable with the overall risk of injury since there's a net and it's not the free-for-all of the trampoline park. For sure planning to pass out dish soap the next time it rains. That's a rite of passage! 😂 010
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 30/04/2025We used to cover it in dish soap when it rained to make it extra slippery. It sprained several ankles and wrists, and I fell off it more than once and got the air knocked out of me. Anyway, over/under on how long it takes before I've got one of the kids at the doctor for a trampoline mishap? 240
Beth Braden @bethjbraden.bsky.social · 30/04/2025My neighbor got a trampoline and I can't get over how safe those things are these days. It's got a net, a ladder to get in it, padded spring guards, etc. The one I had when I was a kid had exposed rusty springs, no net, and we got on it by using a cinder block or a plastic lawn chair. 350
