I pictured the Leviathan from the Dead Space remake but that’s more lovecraftian than biblical

I get that the logic is the pipe shotgun is constructed out of more primitive materials than a proper break-action double-barrel shotgun and the blunderbuss is stylized in a way that makes it looks professionally made but it should at least be mostly equivalent in terms of efficiency.

The closest thing to the blunderbuss now is the pipe shotgun which somehow takes longer than the blunderbuss being a muzzle-loader and the pipe shotgun just being a break-action shotgun. It really shouldn’t take any more time to reload than the double barrel- maybe less since it’s one shell.

The only ingredient that wasn’t super easy to come by was gunpowder but it is possible to find and it was a fair trade-off for having some semblance of a gun so early in the game. You just needed the ambition to raid POI’s with good containers to get a sustainable amount.

I know the pipe guns kind of replaced it but they lack the early-game advantage of having ammo that’s easy to craft without resources that require a forge to reproduce or a workbench to construct.

Biggest mistake the 7 Days to Die devs made was getting rid of the blunderbuss. It was fucking ridiculous but also a great bridge between your first crafted bow and your first actual firearm.
