To anyone worried about a certain kind of animal (IYKYK), and how they will fare on the Severance finale, I can confirm there is (tiny spoiler below) ultimately no violence or abuse. #severance #goats #finale #doesthedogdie.com

We went with "Surviving Christmas". Can't beat a weary, cynical James Gandolfini in his bathrobe muttering barbs every time Christmas is mentioned.

Repulsive in every aspect of the word. Then add the hubris of trying to emulate Marilyn Monroe.

I'm in. Can I wear my regular uniform? I hate that damn dress uniform. Makes me feel like my neck's in a sling...

Human rights are all about respecting basic goodness and dignity. We all must realize that human rights are our birthright. Hence, as a responsible intelligent being, we must act compassionately with awakened mind and skillful means to uphold our own dignity and the dignity of all people. 1/2

Every series had some clunkers. TOS began the tradition with "Spock's Brain" and that ridiculous one where he falls in love with Miramanee and starts dressing like a Native American. Argh.

Kendrick doing his best to make sure 2024 is not the worst year we remember by having the best year of his career so far. Sorry Drake, K Dot really is a national treasure.

I've not had a chance to see it yet. Have you?

Beth Cody @bethcody.bsky.social · 29/11/2024

Or if he's having some kind of mental meltdown. You have to wonder, WHO is advising him? How could his team let him take such an egregious misstep? I'm an old white lady, and even I know that you don't call the cops (or your lawyer) because you lost a rap battle. Anything but that.

110

Beth Cody @bethcody.bsky.social · 29/11/2024

But how in good conscience can he complain about it (or take legal action), when the exact same system benefited him (enormously) in the past? Can't have it both ways. Publishing works the same way. Pubs buy their authors spots on the NYT bestsellers list. Been that way for decades.

Lansing's was my first Shackleton read as well. What an incredible book that was and is. Lansing new how to tell a story, and Shackleton new how to provide one!

Readers ask me which of my many published books is my favorite. Shackleton, when presented with a bleak and hopeless situation, overcame staggering odds to rescue his entire crew. Now we need to rescue our country, and we CAN. #shackleton #booksky @fucktrump.bsky.social @claytoncuteri.bsky.social

My ex was tech director for "Tea At Five". My 5-year-old child climbed onto the stage while Kate was warming up pre-show and imitated her. I was mortified, Kate was charmed. She took us out to dinner later. She talked to me about death, writing, my kid, her adopted daughter...a night to remember!

Hard agree. Unfortunately we've been trained by the Citizen Kane journalism paradigm - the media keeps our attention by making us afraid of all the terrible things that might happen while also fostering anger at everything that has happened. I will never fall for it. We survived the Dark Ages too.

Support the marginalized in your community. Dark times galvanize the best in us, and compel us to act in love to aid, not in hate to disenfranchise. Look to history - humans can and do survive Dark Ages! Embrace hope and step up. We can do this. #spirituality&gnosis #faith #hope #politics

Clayton, I believe the Dalai Lama is the most authentic leader in the world, because his only guidance system is love/compassion. The reason why the CCP/government consider him the most dangerous man in the world is because you can't fight pure love/compassion. It is unbeatable.

It's always going to be TOS for me, but that's because I'm old. Discovered it at age 12, around 7 years after it was cancelled. Became obsessed, and truly think I wouldn't have gotten through 7th grade without it. Haven't seen all of DS9 - can you tell me why it's your fave?

So far it seems to be extremely courteous. I have yet to meet a troll (even on Star Trek threads debating the Kelvin Timeline versus the Prime Timeline), so cautiously optimistic so far that people are joining to escape the snark, hate and unpleasantness on X.

Is that why they "declassified" some information, only to withhold the rest? To act as a diversion? Because Grusch seems like a pretty credible guy, and certainly he has no personal motivation to be a whistleblower, not with his military background.
