I’m at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the $20 billion climate grants case. The Trump administration has now entirely dropped from its legal case the EPA’s continued very public claims that grantees engaged in waste, fraud or abuse. Now stating repeatedly that this is not the government’s contention.

There are goals we share with Zeldin: clean air, affordable energy, strong domestic manufacturing, robust transparency & oversight. But we will never agree on his reasons for terminating our grant. The "evidence" he cites is misleading at best (mostly lies). That is why it has been absent in court.

In Georgia, these funds will help churches install solar and make community buildings more resilient to extreme weather like floods and heatwaves. In North Carolina, they will help Hurricane Helene survivors harden their homes and install solar + batteries to keep the lights on in future storms.
