@TerribleMaps Jervis Bay Territory is a Territory, not a state. It is on the coast, but entirely within New South Wales (as is the Australian Capital Territory)

Also shown in the Australian Capital Territory.

@fakeyarratrams highlight of my evening - seeing a Tesla heading down the tram tracks, headlights bouncing up and down as it drove over the sleepers as it headed down to where the tracks split between the 96 to St Kilda and 109 to Port Melbourne. I am guessing […] [Original post on mastodon.au]

Apparently I could have turned off the #AusAlert today if I had gone looking more carefully...
Wireless emergency alerts - disabled?

Apparently I could have turned them off. AusAlert from the Wireless emergency alert history - the same section that can be disabled entirely - at least in theory.

Is CTD profitable?

Corporate Travel Management Ltd's net margin is 14.40%.

Yet the scandal is that its margin is based on false accounting.

And it hasn't lodged accounts for more than a year.

So yeah, nah, it's probably not profitable. What is Corporate Travel Management Ltd?

Inaccurate peers : Flight Centre Travel Group Ltd (FLT) (true)
Guzman Y Gomez Ltd (GYG) (false - burritos)
Tabcorp Holdings Ltd (TAH) (gambling, FFS)

0 employees

How is CTD performing?
CTD is up +2.36% over the last year.

Sure, but it's been suspended for 11 months, FFS!How much debt?

Not such a breezy report.

So much that it's in safe-harbour provisions, and the banking syndicate is reportedly unlikely to finance it.Does CTD have strong earnings?

Sure, if you ignore the fact that it hasn't reported for 12 months, and previous reports were fraudulent.

And a dividend payout rate of 0.000%.

Maths aint mathing.

If you are not subscribed to the Betoota newsletter, you should be, if only for gems like this:
P.S. Thank you to Harvey Norman Betoota Heights for supporting this newsletter with advertising. If you have too much money and dehydrated grey dog shit in your head where your brain should be, do your shopping there.

Well, blow me down with a feather: the AFR has published an article pointing out that a drop in house prices as a result of changes to CGT and NG doesn't actually matter: AFR article […] [Original post on mastodon.au]
Image from AFR article: picture of a house.

Headline: Economists say property prices might fall 10pc. So what?

Leader: With property prices up 400 per cent since 2000, what does a 10 per cent drop actually mean? And what happened the last time governments made major changes to property taxes?

Oh, #AI hallucinations now with ads. The #enshittificaton deepens. The losses continue and the grasp for paying customers continues.
We’re updating our Privacy Policy to include information about ads in ChatGPT, including how they work and how you can control your experience.

Ads may appear on Free and Go plans. Plus, Pro, Enterprise, Business and Education plans do not have ads. Ads do not influence the answers ChatGPT gives you. When you see an ad, they are always clearly labeled as sponsored and visually separated from the organic answer. You’ll get relevant and personalized ads using information that stays only on ChatGPT, such as ads you've interacted with, or context from your chats. You can manage ad personalization anytime in settings.

@fakeyarratrams Now that there is free public transport in Victoria, why have you sent crews to Hiroshima to disrupt their trams, rather than disrupt #Melbourne #trams? Their trams are better than ours, so maybe that is why they need more disruption. Cheaper, too: ¥240 is around $2.18
Tram track work in Hiroshima. More tram track work in Hiroshima. Better class of barriers that you see in Melbourne. W Class Tram in HiroshimaConductor FTW, and kimono wearing lady.

@Nonilex @HitchhikersGuideQuoteBot2 your two toots appeared one after another in my notifications. Timely reminder of what is happening in in #uspol and how prescient #douglasadams #hitchhikersguide was.
Two toots that happened to be consecutive in my notification timeline: one from the Hitchhiker's Guide bot, and one from Nonilex.

Both talking about figureheads and actual power.

Text:

The President is always a controversial choice, always an infuriating but fascinating character. His job is not to wield power but to draw attention away from it.

and

The #shutdown is the first since Jan 2019, & the 4th of #Trump’s 2 terms. Admin ofcls this time, though, have signaled plans to use the closed agencies as a way to vastly reshape the #FederalGovernment & consolidate #power under the presidency.
#OMB dir #RussVought ordered agencies to consider #MassFirings rather than #furloughs. His instructions to agencies include guidance on rewriting #regulations surrounding federal #grants & challenging #Congress’s constitutional #power over spending.

@williampietri The replies!
Part of a xcancel thread on vibe coding.

The protagonist - Jason - has been wailing about how his AI has been lying to him.

Ha My Tran asks him a question:

Have you tried using memory layers to personalize vibe coding?

He doesn't even know!

No, I don't think soMore from the thread:

This time a "Automation Alchemist" comments that he thought the Reddit stories were overblown.

I keep seeing similar stories all over Reddit and I kept thinking they were overblown/outliers… but now I’m not so sure 😳

The protagonist has seen the stories, but no, doesn't seem at all worried about them.

Jason ✨👾SaaStr.Ai✨ Lemkin @jasonlk

Yeah deep down the stories are mostly the same I think

I know that it is a radio station streaming app, so I shouldn't expect "bank grade security" but a basic understanding of how data gets from the app to your servers in the data centre doesn't seem to beyond the capabilities even SEN. #infosec
