Behind the scenes of Martin Scorsese’s CAPE FEAR (1991). Elmer Bernstein was hired to arrange, adapt & conduct Bernard Herrmann’s original score from the 1962 film for the remake. Bernstein also integrated unused cues that Herrmann had originally composed for Alfred Hitchcock’s film TORN CURTAIN.

On March 28, 1963, Hitchcock’s "The Birds" hit U.S. theaters. On a $3.3M budget, it grossed $11.4M domestically. It features no musical score; Bernard Herrmann supervised a pioneering electronic soundscape using the Mixtur-Trautonium to create synthesized bird effects. 🎬🐦‍⬛
