Proud geek dad moment this week. Conversation with my 10 yo daughter about Percy Jackson spiralled into us buying a big pile of Magic cards and having a very lovely day being big ol' nerds. Big thanks to the lovely Bus Stop Toy Shop in Largs for spending time with us and enabling my nonsense :) #MTG

Fun with simple materials today. A few sheets of paper, a scrap of leather and some thread turned into a little sketch journal. Lots of things learned but not bad for a first effort :)

Just rolled credits on @sunderfolk.com with my 9 year old. We've had a wonderful week of co-op RPG fun with our chosen characters, and she has renamed everything she could - mostly to something about butts :) Bravo to the team - it's a triumph. More soon please!

Bank holiday leather working with my 9yo. Dice pouch for her dice goblin tendencies. Pattern made old school out of packing cardboard by tracing round plates. Saddle stitching made P slightly feral :)

Cardboard template with "Dice pouch" written on it and many pencil guidelines

Messy workbench with dice pouch pieces ready to glue and cardboard patterns.

A wonderful week of contrasts with team @rare.co.uk. Dressed up to the nines for @baftagames.bsky.social awards on Tuesday night. Covered in mud and sweat at the Wolf Run on Saturday. A great team and great fun had in both settings :)

60 minute craft project. Wardrobe mounted earring holder for my wife's growing collection. Patterned in cardboard and made from a piece of leather from my scrap box and a couple of Chicago screws. Huge value to effort ratio. #maker #ikeahack

Every year for Xmas I try to make my daughter something entirely unique and hand crafted that we couldn't buy in a shop. This is the start of this year's project - anyone guess what we're making? :) #sewing #maker

Gamedevs, post your first shipped game and your latest shipped game.

Photo of the PS1 game "Men in black: Crashdown". In retrospect promoting a recent graduate with no console experience to engine programmer on a 9 month dev cycle was "Optimistic"

Taking a moment to reflect on my fitness journey. 18 months ago I was a gym noob. Today I more than doubled my PB from last year, lifting my own(considerable) body weight on a barbell. I also finished my first obstacle race for nearly a decade with a 10k wolf run. Not exactly fit but getting there...

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Rare internships are live again at aka.ms/RareInternships . If you are a student or recent graduate looking for a way to get real games experience then a year with the Rare team is impossible to beat. I can't wait to see the portfolios start coming in :)

"I must not over scope. Scope is the game-killer. Scope is the creeping-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my scope. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see the production path. Where the excess scope has gone there will be nothing. Only the game will remain.”

Been here a while but realise I didn't really introduce myself. I'm Sean. Autistic gamedev leader. Passionate about building diverse teams because diverse teams make better games. In my spare time I make things and play D & D with my 9 year old.
