Imagine getting on a train in the UK where instead of a 5 minute recitation of all the ways in which you could be prosecuted or fined, they've instead made it as easy as possible to buy the right ticket, find the correct seat, stow your luggage and have a relaxing journey.

Putin's Russia isn't an ideological state. It has no need of "doctrine." It's a mafia state run by thugs. "Doctrine" is whatever Putin wants to do at any given moment. So don't fall for some "new doctrine" as if it's a trigger or red line that Putin will have to observe. /5

At the risk of reading too much into Bluesky’s success at the moment, I do think it’s a signal that people don’t want to be surrounded by bots and manipulated algorithms AI can only go so far. We want human connection.

Some really exciting stuff in #mansionhouse speech - including long-overdue potential reform of the credit union common bond. Credit unions should be able to serve easily-understood communities, and not have to turn away people in need based on criteria that can often feel arcane and arbitrary.
