I’m very much pro-LED. Which makes it frustrating so little effort is being put into building quality ones for these purposes.

Benson @bensontheradio.com · 18h

A problem I’m at least seeing in my area, a lot of LED street lighting projects are getting botched by shoddy lighting fixtures. It’s not uncommon to drive down roads where the lights are either all purple, or flashing/flickering. Surely a part of the cost is replacing these faulty lights.

If you want a real treat, look at what Bachmann prices things at compared to what they’re priced at Trainworld or Smith’s.

Benson @bensontheradio.com · 02/10/2026

Yeah, it’s the weird thing with this hobby, the price the manufacturers charge is insane compared to what they actually sell for at other vendors.

Time to come over to the retro computing side…we don’t have cookies.

Po-key-mans. How my relatives have always said it.

Benson @bensontheradio.com · 28/09/2026

It does fascinate me they weren’t able to make the GBP work without a disc to tell it to work.

It’s not abandoned, but a few months after we moved in to where we live now, the Amazon warehouse across the street installed these things all around the parking lot, and we hear these announcements all night if the windows are open. Drives my fiance crazy! They used to do an hourly call out too.

So this is where Jackson Browne got the idea for the song.

I loved how BDSP looked! It’s exactly what I would’ve hoped a remake of DP would look like.

010

Benson @bensontheradio.com · 19/09/2026

Honestly this is why I want to see it get a remake. I could never get into how it looked.

La Jolla is great. Other things that I’ve enjoyed there are the Japanese Friendship Garden, and the San Diego Model Railroad Museum. They’re both in the museum area which is a whole complex of different things to check out.

Don’t worry, I didn’t really see anything like that.

VCF Midwest was pretty neat. Saw some neat tech things. Finally got to meet @lgr-yt.bsky.social. Ben Heck gave me a Commodore 64. Plus so much more!

Was nice to see you! At least the next swap meet for East is coming up.

I’m just not interested in the Fold form factor, I’d rather have a Flip.

Looking forward to seeing what goodies will be available.

See you soon! Headed to town tomorrow.

I love the feature, when it does a great transition it’s *chefs kiss*, but every now and again it will do a really weird thing where it dives in halfway through a song. It always does that with Get Ready by The Temptations.

Get an electric one! I love mine.

Wile E. Coyote will return in Avengers: Doomsday

000

Benson @bensontheradio.com · 03/09/2026

Just saw Coyote vs. Acme. It was so much fun! As a lifetime fan of the Looney Tunes, it was a blast seeing all of the minor characters make appearances. Never thought I would see Babbit and Catstello (or Cool Cat) on the big screen!!

Is it one of those integrated systems, or a stack of components? May have a player I can give you. Also, if you’re trying to play a burned disc, that may be the issue. A lot of older CD players don’t like burned CDs.

I can’t say why it sucks in your car, but it’s my understanding some cars will use the car’s GPS antenna in lieu of the phone’s.

God damn it, this is not the 80 year old that appeared in Home Alone 2 we wanted to lose. Rest in Peace Tim. Thank you for always giving a 110% performance.

The Kinect is very rightfully so a meme, but people love doing the controller-free Just Dance with it when I have gatherings.

Fun Fact: Every single State, District, and Canadian Province I’ve visited, I’ve ridden there on Amtrak.

I would *love* to have that old VCR you used in the video for that VHS data backup system.

Didn’t have this on my bingo card. It doesn’t seem like it’s going for some of the heavier themes from the game, but it still looks like something I’ll have fun watching having played the games a thousand times.

Benson @bensontheradio.com · 20/08/2026

!! This actually looks kinda fun??

110

Benson @bensontheradio.com · 18/08/2026

Understandable. Few things make my brain as happy as a good game of Black Knight 2000.

This. The word loses all of its punch when you use it for everything.

Honestly I enjoy his newer videos. There’s something cozy about them.
