@mickytripathi.bsky.social at @Scottsdale Institute meeting shares that we need to use #AI to enhance medicine-based-evidence (rather than evidence-based-medicine) to extract the 90%+ unstructured info from the EHR to guide medical decisions.

Thrilled to share our findings on LLM performance in drafting hospital discharge summaries at American Medical Informatics Association’s Clinical Informatics Conference in Anaheim. Turns out that physicians hallucinate just as much as LLMs!

Excited to share this JAMA Internal Medicine article that came out today comparing the quality of GPT-drafted hospital discharge summaries to physician-written ones. Bottom line: Both contain errors, but perform similarly on many metrics. tinyurl.com/44pdtvz2 Kudos to my MANY collaborators.

Incredible time hosting CMIO to CXO Shark Tank at AMIA Meeting! Pitchers were Drs. Deepti Pandita, Randa Perkins & Adam Landman. Sharks were Drs. Edmondo Robinson, Jim Merlino & Chris Longhurst. With prizes including a shark trophy, guppy trophy, and blobfish, why ask “Why AMIA?” Shark Tank is why!
