Well, that's got me well confused. 4 pieces of music, all with piano accompaniments, all in German, and piano spelled in 4 different ways. Crikey #TrustMeImAMusicLibrarian

Blimey, it's been quite a day for sorting out deceased composers' rights issues. Lots of shenanigans with publishers (some nice, some not quite so much), and rude letters from 40 years ago. #TrustMeImAMusicLibrarian

Odd drive home. Diversion thanks to roadworks took me on a dual carriageway which appeared to be on a slope. Only realised when I got to a roundabout that it was a road I drive regularly which is not sloping. Odd how night and coming at something from a different angle can distort your perception

Absolutely fascinating to see the original stage play that a film you know really well was based on. Fascinating to see what Hitchcock had tweaked and what had remained virtually unchanged. Thoroughly enjoyed the stage play of Dial M for Murder

Enjoyable first half. Really interesting to see how Hitchcock improved on the stage play (thank you for the music). Ended up in a much better seat than originally booked but bizarrely managed to lose my programme within 2 rows. Whacky even by my standards.

Only just realised that Alan Mencken wrote Little Shop of Horrors. As soon as I knew that, heard one of the songs, and thought Doh, why did I never realise that before. It sounds so distinctively his.

Touched listening to the Horrible Science Prom and hearing Fanfare for the Common Man, alongside an evil genius's plans to blow up the moon. When I was a small kid about the age of the youngest Prommers, that music was everywhere whenever the Apollo space programme was mentioned.

Bemused listening to a fascinating talk about the novelist Angela Carter and her association with Bristol. Where she lived sounds remarkably like the home of the dreadful Howard in Malcolm Bradbury's The history man.

Strange asthma check up on the phone. Had problems persuading the nurse to come near enough to phone so I could hear her. She then read from a prepared script and sounded so bored she was virtually horizontal. She did cheer up when talking about the dangers of thrush though. Yeek!
