The Hard Left will never stop underestimating their unpopularity. They have that in common with the Hard Right. The politics of protest are not the politics of winning elections. Moaning might rouse up the rabble, but the majority rarely see a whiner as a winner, or worthy of leading them.

Truth be told The Greens in their current state are manna from heaven for Labour. Andy Burnham will be delighted. The hard Left nutters are very happy over there, the moderate Left will begin walking away from them, the media have the AS bogey man in the Greens now, and Labour get to look sensible.

Murphy Brown was one of the most acclaimed shows ever made but it's like it never existed. I do find it interesting how failed shows like Star Trek can go on to such greatness and basically become immortal while truly successful shows end up lost and forgotten once their runs end.
