David Ayala: He is MILES better than Artur. It is laughable that David is getting fewer votes, especially with the media attention he has gained recently, both from local and national media outlets. He has been one of the best DM in MLS this year; stats prove it. Get him to Austin.

Finn Surman: He is a better player than Lalas Abubakar on a better team. Lalas has also only played 470 min compared to Finn's 1200. Small sample size, on a worse team, Finn wins here.

David Da Costa: He is leading MLS in assists with 8, along with 2 goals. Lucho Acosta has 3 goals and 0 assists with one of the best strikers in MLS on his team. DDC has taken on a big weight being "the guy" after Evander. He should be better, but he has been better than Lucho by a mile.

Antony: I do not think Antony is better than any of the forwards on this list; the only one he comes close to is Dreyer, but that dude is a baller. They have the same amount of G/A but SD success warrants it I think Antony deserves a coach's or commissioner's pick this year; he has been so good.

I think it’s kinda gone under the radar that the Timbers are doing this all with ONE (active) DP Assuming Jona is sold or SEI soon, another DP will come in the summer. This team is going to get better and I genuinely think with the right summer moves we could do some damage in the playoffs #RCTID

Overall, I think this game is winnable. SKC doesn't have the level of roster the Timbers have; SKC just have that new coach voodoo on their side. Defensively, we need to lock down Jovelic and Manu Garcia, who are by far their most deadly attackers. Remember, no Jimer Fory this weekend due to yellow card accumulation, so expect Ian Smith to get the starting nod. Very young backline with Ian, Finn, and Juan, so we need to see maturity

This has to be a great game from Santi Moreno and Da Costa. SKC's midfield is not the strongest, so if they can get control over the game, the Timbers attack may be able to flourish. We need to control the game early; do not let SKC build off that STL CITY win. Da Costa and Santi are key to that

Through their first 7 games, SKC has not been good; blame that on coaching, blame that on the roster, anything you want, but their numbers on both sides of the ball are bad 3rd worst xG in the West, with the 5th worst xGA, not strong metrics, small sample size, but there is a chance to pounce

I think Evander is the better player; you would be hard pressed to find anyone that disagrees, but I truly believe DDC can raise the teams ceiling higher than it was with Evander. Evander was an elite player that was the system. I think DDC can be an elite player that fits in the system. #RCTID

Overall: An early season 0-0 draw on the road vs a good team will always be a great result, and it wasn’t a “bad” 0-0. We had chances and nearly smash and grabbed 3 points. 3-2-2 in 7 games with 1 DP, who is young and new to MLS is a great start to a season. Surely we go up in the power rankings 🫣

End thoughts: If Phil Neville’s men go to Austin and get a point, we are sitting at 1.57ppg, which is on pace for a 54 point year. That is really solid and you can’t complain, but man a win in Austin for the 3rd year in a row would be amazing for the confidence in the team and national media #RCTID

David Da Costa: I think this is the game we see how good DDC can be, good opportunity to show his strengths against a good defensive team on the road. He can break down their low block with his quick passing movements between Santi and Antony on the wings. If he unlocks the attack, our counter 📈📈📈

Ariel Lassiter: C Not really much to say about Ariel yet, seems to be exactly what we were expecting when we signed him. I think he can be a serviceable depth winger in MLS, but he has yet to show it. Wish he wouldn’t have taken that shot vs LA Galaxy but that was nowhere near his fault.
