Just finished this wonderful new series What it Feels Like for a Girl. This was the most important series I've seen this year. Flawless, raw, heartfelt, honest and all the above buzz words. It is must see viewing and is exactly the kind of tv series that needs commissioned.

My book, The Ghost Merchant is due out 7th July. So I will be answering some questions on here about the process of creating the book, the world and the characters. The first question was - What inspired you to write the book in the very beginning?

Keir Starmer's disability benefit cuts will hit 700,000 families already living in poverty, internal government figures show. This is in addition to the 250,000 people, who the DWP's own impact assessment suggests will be newly driven into poverty by the cuts www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Haven't done any writing for around a month since finishing my latest manuscript and it feels really odd. I have no current ideas in my head for my next book. I've got 2 finished, 1 ready for beta readers but this is a scary feeling. Focusing on reading indie books while I wait for inspiration.

I've just finished one that is around 100k, my longest yet and wow people do not warn you about how long and hard the re-reads and edits are. It takes SO long to get through! 😅

More & more readers have been looking for alternatives to Amazon & after some research, I think ko-fi is going to be the best option for this. Using my store also allows me to see more commission from a sale than Amazon would ever allow, so it is also helping me to keep writing and creating.

Little announcement today for world book day. I am opening up my books to be sold beyond Amazon. This means you can use my ko-fo store to get direct eBook files for all my books and also order signed editions from myself as well. (signed paperbacks are currently UK only sadly.) #booksky

I love that feeling when you think "omg I've created a story with no plotholes in a first draft" only to re read something in like chapter 4 that blows the entire plot apart 😅

I've got a 200 year old ghost cat called Wilson in mine. He spends most of the novel sleeping on a cushion, eating or being a comfort for the cast of characters.

Render of a paperback book titled The Ghost Merchant. The cover is of a house in the centre of a forest, illustrated with a blue colour pallet.

My father and also brother said to me the other day Putin is great and Russia is thriving and the people there are living a better life. I was gobsmacked at their views. My dad used to be a Corbin supporter ffs. I am so scared at how they have been brainwashed over the past few years.💔

It's one of my favourite new shows. Although I watched s1 and 2 back to back and the wait for s3 has been painful. I think it's great and the cast are brilliant. I literally have nothing bad to say about it.

great you are actually publishing this kind of stuff when others don't, but that ultra 4k image of Farage when I opened the article was a jump scare!

Thank you for covering the disgraceful DWP & benefit overall, Matthew. Not many voices are talking about this. The assessments and criteria for it are a humiliating and stressful experience that lasts months at a time. Hearing the rhetoric recently is only adding to disabled people's misery.

I thought that when I heard Beth's stupid question. Kier was right to say him, and even journalists like Beth couldn't announce the information due to the law. Shows how utterly idiotic the question was.

I just finished writing a dystopian novel, and had to really ramp up the 'dystopia' for it to not seem tame compared to real life. 💀

There are some 1400 page a book series that I simply would not be able to read, so getting them in audio is my only way to read certain series. I still count it as reading and enjoying the author's work. I don't get why people so it doesn't count.

I have a dystopian, political novel with a touch of light Sci-Fi due out and I still can't work out what kind of book cover I should get for it. It's called DIVIDED and about a country pushed apart by the government with a wall built down the centre to separate people...👀. Any help or ideas #booksky

I'm so sick of this BS and blaming vulnerable people for the issues in this country. If you self dignoses yourself for anything, there is 0 chance you would get through all the forms, paperwork, interviews and assessments to claim any benefits. www.lbc.co.uk/news/tony-bl...

I always thought Darren Jones would make a fantastic leader of Labour, and he does very well in most interviews, be it on LBC, BBC, and even GB News. He's great. I used to like Wes, but his terrible stance on trans issues, assisted dying, and hormone blockers has shown his true colours sadly.

Could you imagine the right wing rags if Labour did do that? The amount of made up lies and headlines would be endless for all the channels and papers. It would sadly be too dangerous if they did this. Nigel Farage wouldn't be off the airwaves blathering on about it for months.
