Great time knocking some doors this weekend. Come join us next Saturday!

This morning I attended the legislative breakfast hosted by the Southwest Suburban Health Department at the Greenfield Library. There is so much work to do to better take care of members of our community. I look forward to supporting this work happening in Greenfield.

Data centers are a hot topic right now and people are rightfully concerned. While my opponent has taken contributions from the companies trying to raise your rates, I'll fight for a moratorium until ratepayers are protected and local communities get real control.

Some great weather today for door knocking! Thanks to all my neighbors in Greenfield and Milwaukee that spent time talking with me. I had some great conversations about how we can protect people from data centers, bring down the cost of living, and lower our property taxes.

Hannie and I had a fantastic time at the Trimborn Farm Harvest of Arts & Crafts this morning. Many thanks to the hardworking organizers and talented artists who braved the rain. And to all our neighbors who said hi or stopped for a conversation. #Milwaukee

On this, the 25th anniversary of those attacks, let us take heart in that grand project, always a work in progress. Let us acknowledge the loss, remember the lost, and commit ourselves to the values and spirit that bound us in those days after the attacks, and continue to bind us today.

Ben Brist @ben-brist.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
Those attacks did so much, but did not do what they intended to do: defeat our spirit as Americans or our faith in the grand project of our democracy.

The effects on our foreign policy and politics surely shaped my growing up, as it did so many others in my generation. It shaped my choice to serve in the military, my time at West Point and in the Army, and led me to deploy twice, to Iraq and Kuwait, over 19 years after the September 11th Attacks.

Ben Brist @ben-brist.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
Those attacks changed our country and changed the trajectory of so many lives.

On the anniversary of September 11th, we remember the cost and sacrifice of those days. We remember the first responders and ordinary citizens who ran towards danger because people needed help and because it was the right thing to do. And we remember the loved ones lost and lives changed.

Folks are being squeezed in every direction, and especially by healthcare costs. We need a legislature that will take swift action: expanding BadgerCare, capping prescription drug prices, and bringing down costs for all of us. This will be a day one priority for me as your next state representative!

I’m so glad we have Sen. Baldwin representing us in Washington and that we’re in the fight to build a better Wisconsin, together.

It was great to be out in Downtown Greendale today with Senator Tammy Baldwin! We got to chat with community members and local business owners about the issues they’re facing and how new leadership in the state assembly can make a difference.

Public education, economic opportunity, healthcare access, and workers’ rights are all on the line this November. Thanks to the DLCC for their support in our fight to build a better Wisconsin!

Great news! My race for district 61 was just given a Target Race designation by the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee - DLCC, the only organization responsible for the national strategy to elect Democrats to legislatures across all 50 states. @thedlcc.bsky.social

I'm proud of my service. I'm proud to be a sixth-generation Wisconsinite. And I'm proud to be running to represent the 61st district.

So when Bob Donovan and his allies attack me for voting while I wore the uniform and finished my education, they're not just attacking me. They're attacking every soldier, sailor, airman, and Marine who has ever mailed a ballot home from a base or a combat zone.

Ben Brist @ben-brist.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
Hundreds of thousands of deployed and active duty service members vote absentee in every election, and I'm proud I got to have a say in the future of the state that I love.

Ben Brist @ben-brist.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
While I was gone, I did what service members across this country do: I requested my absentee ballot, filled it out, and voted back home in Wisconsin. From bases in Iraq, Georgia, Colorado, and beyond.

When the Army sends you across the country or across the world, you don't stop being a Wisconsinite. I spent 11 years in uniform, away from home. Four years at West Point, then seven on active duty as an infantry officer and paratrooper.

Let's be honest: this isn't a one-off anymore. Hotter, drier summers are fueling bigger fires, and we're breathing the consequences. Clean air isn't partisan. It's something we owe our kids, and our leaders should be willing to act on it.

It's unconscionable to me that Republicans in the Legislature refused to find a way to keep these facilities open. I will fight to protect veteran services, including access to housing.

Last year, the Republican-controlled legislature failed to fund two veterans' homeless shelters in Green Bay and Chippewa Falls, resulting in their closure and a huge loss of care in those communities. www.jsonline.com/story/news/p...

Proud to share that our campaign has earned the endorsement of VoteVets, the nation's largest progressive veterans organization. I served for seven years in the Army as a paratrooper and infantry officer, and I know what it means to put service over self.

I couldn't be prouder of her—not just for the uniform she wears, but for the strength, dedication, and selflessness she shows every day. Welcome home, Hannie. Happy Birthday, and thank you for all you do.

My wife, Hannie, recently returned home after two weeks doing her annual service with the U.S. Army Reserves. I'm incredibly grateful for her continued service to our country, and even more grateful to have her home for the holiday and her birthday weekend.

Wisconsin deserves leaders who put communities ahead of political power plays. Letting one of our state's most successful conservation programs die out of political pettiness is a loss for every Wisconsinite.

The Republican Legislature killed it because they demanded unilateral control over individual projects instead of allowing the bipartisan process that made the program successful.

For more than 30 years, this bipartisan program, named for a Republican and a Democrat, has helped fund parks, trails, campgrounds, boat launches, wildlife habitat, and outdoor recreation in communities across WI.

It's time for a change. When we flip this district and retake the Assembly, I'll work to restore fair shared revenue funding, fix our broken education funding formula, and make sure our communities have the resources they need without constantly asking homeowners to pay more.

Wisconsin now has one of the highest property tax rates in the nation. That's because the Republican Legislature has repeatedly underfunded local governments and school districts, leaving property taxpayers to pick up the tab.

I'm hearing the same story from families across our district: higher property tax bills, fewer services, and schools struggling to make ends meet.

This is exactly why I support a pause on new large data centers statewide until we can create a regulatory framework and ensure they don’t raise our rates. If we leave this up to the utilities and big tech companies, normal rate payers will get stuck footing the bill. www.wpr.org/news/we-ener...
