As the economy continues to contract, I expect that approval rating to tank. Right now, I feel like it’s being artificially propped up by the media largely refusing to hold the administration’s feet to the fire. He’s already underwater on every issue, so 40% makes no sense.

Because a large chunk of them cares more about access than actually doing their jobs. If they lose the access, they lose their book deals, etc. There are very few out there who actually want to hold politicians feet to the fire anymore - Trump’s most pointed questions come from foreign journos.
