It is in the accessibility settings! It’s a little toggle switch that you can enable!

The text on the screen reads in order:

Accessibility (located at the center top in bold lettering)

Alt text (with a symbol of a circled stick figure to the left of it)

If it’s a matter of forgetting (which fair I’m also horrible at remember as well if that’s the case) there’s a setting you can turn on to help avoid that! I believe it’s in the accessiblility section but I’ll double check just to be sure.

I really like that Bluesky has a setting to essentially force you to add alt text before posting. It really eliminates the excuse of forgetting which I’m terrible of on other sites. It’s really helped as someone who struggles both with adhd memory issues and pregnancy related memory issues lol
