I've reached the point where I actually despise the sycophants around him even more than I despise him. May they all die in pain, in prison. He is evil scum but they are lapping it up, knowing that he's evil scum.

This describes my supermarket trips perfectly. I notice the people commenting that it's ridiculous are all men. Hmmmm.

Yes, crib bumbers are illegal here too so we never installed the ones that came with the cot. She's a sturdy 18-month toddler now, and this is just two thin layers of fabric. I'd err on the side of caution for a younger baby.

I made a cot insert to prevent my granddaughter's pacifiers from falling out of the cot.... So that she, and her parents, get a better night's sleep. Feeling proud as I'm not a good sewist😁

A baby's cot with a fabric insert rising up to partially cover the side bars

Good morning from Ukraine. It’s 09:00. For one minute, life pauses. We remember those who are no longer here. We will never forget and we will never forgive russians.

Bilingual (en/fr) plus passive understanding of 2. Granddaughter is learning to talk, being spoken to in 4 languages. Doesn't seem to hold her back one bit!

@mu.social When might I be able to download a dedicated mu.social app, (i.e. a separate app, not a web app that opens in a browser). Not sure if it does or doesn't exist yet but I'm not finding it on Google play store.

I still call it Bluesky because when I say 'I saw on Bluesky' there's a chance people might know what I'm talking about whereas 'I saw on Mu' is guaranteed a blank stare. Whether I say Moo or Myu

I've loved writing book reviews, spending hours carefully drafting and editing them. Now there's free tools to write AI-generated reviews, & I suspect most of the traffic to my site is AI scraping it for content. My desire to write reviews and maintain the site is near zero. Sad. Books.beledit.com

Got an inkbook focus plus a week ago. Took a while to set up the apps I wanted but now I love it! I installed Koreader and Kindle apps (using more recent apk installation files, not the versions proposed by inkbook). I love it! Much better than the Pocketbook Inkpad 4 I bought & returned.

I'm just a user and I don't understand how it works. All I see is that your searches are not connected to a specific Google account. It's not much but it's something. I'd like something fully Google independent but there's no app that comes close to its efficiency, sadly

#FreeBooks The Breakers Series: Books 1-3 (ebook) by Edward W. Robertson is currently free (e.g. www.kobo.com/be/en/ebook/the-breakers-series-books-1-3). So good I bought the rest. Compelling #DystopianFiction with a pandemic and aliens, strong characters and plenty of action.

Like a naive idiot, I saw 'European' and enthusiastically signed up straight away. Now with all the criticism it's getting, I regret it. It's still small enough (tiny!) to go either way, but stuff I've read about the founder isn't promising. 🤷

Ils veulent cacher cette photo ? Alors montrons-la partout. Cette image d’un match de football à Gaza a été retirée d’un festival parce qu’elle dérange. Partagez-la. Affichez-la. Aucune pression ne pourra effacer la réalité.

If you're suggesting that legalising assisted suicide is a cunning plot to reduce spending to support the handicapped, that's one hell of a stretch.

Hmm, Bluesky/Eurosky - I like that formulation. I agree that reference to ATmosphere feels way too complicated

Question: if you use #mu.social ( #eurosky, #blacksky, etc.), when speaking of it do you call it Bluesky? Or something else? What and why? Given that 'most' people have never heard of either....

All this fuss seems silly. There are even "eclipse flights" - a 1-hour flight around the airport to see it from a plane. What a waste

110

fiona brichaut @beledit.com · 12/08/2026

I don't get the eclipse hype. Sure, I get the facts [rare, beautiful, nature, distraction from the shit going on, etc] but I think people are just being swayed by the hype. If they were genuinely interested they'd have bought the glasses well in advance instead of panicking now. 1/2
