No, MS Word, your suggestion is not helpful. "complied" is the best verb here, not "complained". #AmEditing

I never imagined that writing a blog post would take so long and use up so much mental energy! But I'm thankful for my copyeditor (aka the husband) who's helping me to polish and improve each article. Now I get to experience being on the other side of the editing process. 😱

I've finally taken the plunge and started a blog, which I hope will help authors, particularly those who aren't British but set their books in the UK. My first post covers surnames for British characters and how and why the British surname pool differs from others. behest-editing.com/blog/choosin...

Hello Bluesky, it's been quite a while. Mainly because this little guide dog girl came into our lives and keeps us busy. She's so worth it though, even if it's all kinds of crazy round here!

Nicked from a friend on Facebook. I think I'd want to be forewarned about buglers so that I could sleep with earplugs in in case they came bugling in the early hours!

Just replied to a former client of my husband's business who's a writer. He emailed me out of the blue to ask if I'd be interested in working with him and some other members of his local writers group. I'm used to working with authors thousands of miles away so some close to home would be lovely.
