And, while i am a "Rui is the First indeed" truther, we previously had another cases of human-digimon bond and pseudo-partnership *before* Rui. Taichi & Hikari with the egg hatched into Koromon (which is not stated to be the same Koromon Taichi gets partnered later), and Oikawa Yukio & Hida Hiroki.

Hey, it bothers me when everyone misquotes Rui statements about being or not the First Chosen Child. Yes, in meta-wise, all the interviews and slogan/pitch about this movie makes him the First. HOWEVER IN-UNIVERSE AND MOVIE: he NEVER claimed that.

I was reading Taguchi & Sasahara's interview from the movie pamphlet and thinking they REALLY CARED ABOUT THE LORE, TIMELINE AND ADVVERSE HUH?? No wonder i loved this movie's details and precision with the lore. (src: digi-lab.blog/digimon-adve... )

–How did you feel when the project was finalized?
Taguchi: I’d heard from Kinoshita-san “we want to center it around the first Chosen Child”, but they hadn’t decided anything on beyond that, and they started with the idea “rather than just do the same thing Kizuna did, if we’re working with the 02 group, what kind of story can we make out of it?” But afterwards, I could tell how difficult of a question it was. Since it’s 02 we’re talking about, we couldn’t have too extreme of a serious atmosphere. It had to be fun and perky, or rather, there was an opinion that “maybe we should just stick to showing off how good the characters’ friendly relationships are?” Afterwards, (Hiromi) Seki-san, Kinoshita-san, and scriptwriter Yamatoya-san went back to the Digimon timeline and started coming up with ideas like, “Isn’t there a gap here? Could we maybe show something from this period of time?” There was supposed to be exactly one Chosen Child in 1996, so they went from there as a starting point and went down the timeline, coming up with more and more substories and threading together the full narrative. Because the question of “how should we handle the first child?” was so difficult, everyone in the staff started off fussing over it quite a lot.

Sasahara: There’s a scene in the middle where Daisuke and V-mon say “we’re gonna make ramen” to each other on the roof, and that’s a scene I really like a lot. Under the surface of that scene, I believe there’s a message about how many difficult hurdles they’ve actually gone through, meeting people of different ethnic backgrounds, working for days and weeks and months, and collaborating with others from completely different cultures3 through “cooking”. Within the relationship that Daisuke and V-mon have built up after all this time, they’ve reached the point where they can say something like that, and I feel that it really hits you in the heart. Lui may have started off on the wrong foot, but he wants to take responsibility and has the resolve to move forward, and so he can always try and do things over again. That’s a major theme of this movie, so I hope everyone watching the movie can take at least a little of that to heart.

But at the end of the movie we learned that Rui and Ukko weren't even talking to each other -- none of them knew what the other actually liked and disliked, and Rui *never* had a chance to tell that possibly because of his mom's abuse.

???????????????????? 02's Odaiba Memorial episode has Koushiro theorize they can open the gate without digital devices unless they have the D-3. This is a foreshadowing of ep 33, in which Ken opens a gate IN THE RIVER. But now Beyond says they *need* internet connection...??

Iori: Yes, so long as it's connected to the internet, but...

Koushiro: As long we have a PC... Or, maybe not. As long we have the D-3,

Koushiro: we should be able to get to the Digital World.

this piece of material intrigues me so much because: 1- Miyako had 10cm at advantage against Daisuke's height had backfired at her and now he managed to revert it at his favor by making him be 10cm taller than her now. 2- Ken is still TOO TALL oh my god 3- Daisuke is 1cm shorter than Takeru??!
