JKR hasn't just posted controversial comments. She actively funds hate. She impacts LAWS. Also, how many trans creators did you reach out to comment on this? How many trans creators in the UK?

I would honestly love for reporters to actually push back on Julie Soto when she says that fanfic is an act of resistance, because what is her nazi sex slave fanfic resisting? Also extremely disappointed that you didn't mention JKR funding the court case that ruled transwomen aren't women

Also love the fact that quotes are now turned off, so did the author of this article see your response and decide that was enough? 🥴

Cis people thinking they get to decide what's an act of resistance and speak over all the trans people begging people to understand just how harmful this is.

why were trans people only mentioned once? did you make a clear effort to reach out to trans people on this matter?

WHAT IS
DRAMIONE?®
DRAMIONE
* IS THE PAIRING OF *
DRACO
MALFOY* GRANGER
FROM THE HARRY POTTER SERIES.
For those who may not know, Draco was one of the antagonists and Hermione was one of the three main characters of the series.
Like with any fandom, people wonder, "What if these two characters got together?" And since Draco and Hermione are complete opposites, and because everyone loves a good enemies-to-lovers story, naturally, this was a fan-favorite pairing.
The emergence of Dramione skyrocketed within the fanfiction community, which led to several published adaptions, including the forthcoming Alchemised by SenLinYu, adapted from Manacled, setting us up to break out Brigitte Knightley at just the right time.

Holy shit this is such a terrible answer from the @illumicrate.bsky.social Chief of Operations/Head of Communications. Honestly saying nothing would’ve been less insulting

A screenshot from the Illumicrate discord it reads:

Caitlin (Saint of Chaos): The Illumicrate team will not be making a statement with regards to the decision to create an edition of Rose in Chains, or any other books that are reworked Harry Potter fanfiction or are written by authors who have previously written Harry Potter fanfiction but we have seen your feedback and taken it on board, as always and you are welcome to email your thoughts to the support team if you wish.

In regards to the comments/questions about server rule 13 (that’s the rule about HP/JKR) we don’t think rules in a community space should be taken as a reflection or extenson of Illumicrate’s business strategy, or the views of the members of the team.

We previously offered a dedicated thread for discussion of these books for those who wished to discuss them, to keep the main server rule-compliant. That was shot down as people felt they had the right to discuss Illumicrate’s decision to do editions of these books in open forum.
