Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Considering popping on another layer because the temp inside my flat has gone down to 23°c. It's a sign of how ridiculously hot it has been inside my flat this summer that 23°c now feels chilly. 000
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 29/08/2026I'm also watching it. Fantastic film. Hugh Grant is especially brilliant in it. 110
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Thanks! I've gone with Levis so your advice really helped. Thanks! 000
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Thanks extremely helpful advice and I've gone with Levi's. 110
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Thank you that has been extremely helpful and I have gone with Levi's. Much appreciated. 010
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 11/07/2026Anyone in the Leeds area got a good recommendation for a solicitor or conveyancer? I have had an offer on a house accepted and am now in need of one. My birthday present to myself this weekend... a house!! 441
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/07/2026And success! Still lots of tickets available including for weekends which is when I have booked to visit (had to book an evening ticket is the only thing so a bit later than I'd have liked). So if you are in the queue for the #BayeuxTapestry hang tight and you will get there eventually! 130
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/07/2026Erm wait times of up to 9 hours? Am I queuing for Oasis tickets or something?! 100
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/07/2026Just 27000+ people ahead of me now. The queue is going down, albeit slowly. I'm unsure if the British Museum was quite prepared for this level of interest! And am v much regretting not logging on at dead on 10 on multiple devices. 200
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/07/2026Am also in the #BayeuxTapestry queue. I joined at about 10 past 10. Will I get tickets? Will the tapestry have returned to France by the time I get through to booking any? I will keep you posted. #theanticipation 110
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 09/05/2026I have spent today viewing some houses around Leeds as I'm contemplating buying my first house at the grand old age of 38 after saving up for many years. This feels a little too grown up for my liking. 020
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 26/03/2026holds the account. Is this really good application of data protection law? No! That isn't personal data, surely? Back to my letting agent/ the property management company I go. At least I can say I told you so, although I would rather just be able to pay my electricity bill and know it's all OK. 4/4 010
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 26/03/2026registered at my address (although the account itself is). And here's where DP comes in... it needs the business to make the amendments and register the property and account as a residential address and no I cannot be told if the bill is being paid by anyone or which business 3/4 100
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 26/03/2026find out who my energy supplier is and going round in circles with various suppliers and my letting agent and the building property management company. Less so. Today I found out what I have suspected all along... the account is registered as a business account and the energy board supply isn't 2/4 100
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 26/03/2026A mini rant about data protection. GDPR is incredibly important. I navigate it every day in archives & rm whether it's in terms of how to manage researcher information or access to 20th/21st century records. But when it comes to I have been living in my flat since October and trying to 1/4 100
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 21/02/2026What else to do when you're back in the village you grew up in on the second Saturday of half-term? Why attend the local panto of course... oh no she didn't, oh yes she did! 020
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 02/01/2026I now have not 1 but 2 comfy reading chairs and a sofa to choose from when snuggling under my blanket, courtesy of a spare rocking chair from my sister. The existing chair and sofa were courtesy of Emmaus Leeds a fab charity who work with ex-homeless & I highly recommend for 2nd hand furniture. 2/2 010
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 02/01/2026Back to my flat in Leeds after a wonderfully refreshing Christmas and New Year break in Cambridgeshire. Well apart from yet another awful cold. My flat is now a balmy 15.4°c so I'm huddled under a blanket. Still warmer than the 11°c it was after 1.5 weeks without heating. And more importantly 1/2 110
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 02/01/2026Ooh I do like a subscription library bookplate. This is a rather detailed one too. 010
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/01/2026Oh of course. Absolute nightmare!the image, the type, the handwriting!have lots of those with the Bamforth postcard collection too. 110
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/01/2026You work in publishing history and don't know about crown copyright?! Oof!!! 100
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/01/2026You were along the right lines. I mean that's assuming there were contracts in place and it does get complicated as that isn't always clear and it could be with the institution or the creator, or the crown... Otherwise could be an orphan work if don't know but that wouldn't be the case for an OS map 010
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/01/2026I think the overall takeaway from these conversations is copyright is complicated. For this reason I am very much looking forward to the next edition of the archive bible, aka Copyright for Archivists and Records Managers by Tim Padfield. 120
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/01/2026Ooh interesting. Music copyright is so complicated too. With the typographical arrangement at 25 years, and then often multiple copyrights if e.g. lyricists, multiple composers or arrangers, was it published before X date etc. We have many modern music collections @heritagequay.bsky.social 120
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/01/2026It will be until 70 years after death of the creator. Even if they worked for an institution and the copyright is with the institution rather than the individual it still goes on the dates of the creator if known. Why copyright is such a minefield! Sound recordings are also incredibly difficult. 220
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/01/2026And fascinating and dramatic accounts. Shows the importance of newspapers for recording evidence. You've done a fantastic job with the site though. Was like I wonder who these people were and the link to the biographies you've created is a historian/researcher's dream! 000
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/01/2026I love a copyright session (you can tell I'm an Archivist and ex-library/book historian right!?!). I'm thinking this is a good example to use with students when we cover basic copyright principles with them. 020
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 01/01/2026That is a very good point to make and one that can easily be forgotten in the difference between American and UK copyright law. 130
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 31/12/2025Not forgetting some rather wonderful and slightly scary gargoyles. 110
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 31/12/2025And some more. My fave is the peasant as apparently incredibly rare for a lay person to be depicted and used to be in a window in the Lady Chapel @elycathedral.bsky.social 120
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 31/12/2025Still don't have DMs on here! Will search it without using the link and find it! 100
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 31/12/2025Ended 2025 the right way after a year that has been a lot in my personal and professional life. Finally visited the wonderful @stainedglassmuseum.bsky.social in Ely. Absolutely fantastic and can highly recommend. 151
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 31/12/2025Yes I have been getting annoyed with the AI too. Still need to watch the second two. 110
Becky Bowd @beckybowd.bsky.social · 28/12/2025The Sea City in Southampton does the recreation using the archival evidence brilliantly it's worth saying, is incredibly well thought out and well worth visiting. But nice to see a TV version reliant on the archives too. 000
