So many authors find book marketing very disheartening. As an author who works in marketing for my day job, I wanted to dig into why. Hopefully, this post provides some helpful ways forward (or at least commiseration lol!). erinbecker.substack.com/p/why-you-ha... #booksky

I haven't even officially shared the book with my 5th graders yet, but as soon as they saw it, there was an immediate clamor. Can't wait to hear what the first readers think of CRUSHING IT by @beckererine.bsky.social ! ⚽💕 #kidlit #booksky

I was one of the (anonymous) librarians interviewed in this fantastic article by @beckererine.bsky.social that you really, truly need to read if you are writing for kids. Thanks again, Erin, for letting me chat with you!

I asked two dozen youth services & school librarians where they discover new titles, what they'd like to see more of, and what they're worried about. Middle grade authors, there are some good takeaways here for you! #librarians #schoollibrarians #mglit #kidlit erinbecker.substack.com/p/whats-keep...

Hey librarians and teachers! I have a few extra copies of my middle grade debut CRUSHING IT, which came out from Penguin in August. I'd love to send them to folks working with kids ages 10–13. Reply or DM if you'd like a copy & we can coordinate! #EduSky #SchoolLibrarians #Skybrarians #librarians

Big yes to this! I loved being able to capture the young teen experience with CRUSHING IT & speak to the ups & downs of being 13: first crushes, friendship drama, on-the-field drama with soccer. It's been out for a few months, and it's been awesome to see it resonating. There is definitely demand! 💗

Excited to take part in this giveaway organized by @annmrose.bsky.social! Critiques and beta readers definitely helped me when I was getting started querying & I look forward to seeing the query and pages of the winner. I write MG and YA but am happy to critique all categories/genres. :)

Thank you to LGBTQReads for hosting the official cover reveal for CRUSHING IT! I'm so excited this book will be out in the world in August. Thank you to Ricardo Bessa for the gorgeous cover art and for doing a brilliant job bringing Mel and Tory's story to life.
