My live footage of Mars disappearing behind the moon! It’s called a lunar occultation of Mars. From our perspective in the United States, on Monday 1/13/25 starting at about 9:20pm est, Mars went behind the moon for a little over an hour and then popped out the other side. Here is the footage.

I finally deactivated my twitter account. Took some emailing back and forth because it said I had the wrong password. Then they told me my email was not the correct email address connected to my account. It is though. But eventually they let me change my password just so I could then deactivate 😂

Hello, bluesky. I take photos of the sky when cool shit happens. This is comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan -Atlas photographed by me on 2024.10.13 at about 8pm

Comet C2023/A3 shines against a gradient sky, orange light rising with the tail of the comet, fading to the blue-black of night. A few faint stars are starting to appear.

The nucleus of the comet is brightest, a ball that looks slightly larger than the background stars. The tail sweeps upward, gradually fanning out as it fades to nothing. Below the nucleus, barley perceived is an anti-tail pointing towards the sun below the horizon.
