The Welsh Government is to recognise beavers as a native species and award them full legal protection. This is great news for this wonderful mammal, which can help us restore our river and freshwater habitats. tinyurl.com/53yh5kj8 📷 © Allard Martinius

We are pleased to announce @joycewatson.org.uk as the first beaver species champion. In July Joyce and @carolynthomasms.bsky.social visited #DyfiWildlifeCentre to talk about #beavers, we even caught a glimpse of Barti the adult male beaver in the evening. @waleslink.bsky.social 📷 © Joyce Watson MS

The sighting of a wild beaver has been described by @iolowilliams.bsky.social as one of his very best wildlife sightings in Wales in his new 'River Valleys' programme. We were invited to talk about it on BBC News this week. Visit welshbeaverproject.org for more information on our project.
