I’ve used both Uber & Lyft when I’ve had to, but that was like using a taxi with a driver that is being exploited. A Waymo is either being remote piloted from somewhere where the employee is even more exploited or a computer that I couldn’t possibly trust less given who runs things these days.

Our company is set to pivot from copilot to ChatGPT at the end of this month & there are people literally freaking out because they are worried that they won’t get enough tokens to do their jobs on the new plan & they are trying to figure out how to afford copilot on their own dime to keep as-is…

Being anti-AI at work is starting to feel like being pro-mask. They consider me a weirdo because I’m not embracing the herd culture rather than the only one evaluating dangers correctly. It’s extra fun because both impair cognitive abilities so it’s like swimming against a strengthening current.
