It was a question I think you answered it. You are saying you do think this is the appropriate person to provide a platform.

I could only dare to hope that this degree of disgusting bigotry on full display could cause at least a moment of pause and reflection. Obviously that is way too high a hope when it comes to many people.

Why is Gen X demonstrably better to listen to than the Boomer generation? I take it you mean across racial / ethnicity lines? Cuz yeah naw.
2024 exit polls show white GenX was the highest age-race voting bloc for Trump.

There’s one demographic whose voters vote Republican majority for president every single US presidential election, and have done so since the passage of the civil rights act. Are you part of that demographic?

This is wrong and a white privileged take. You think that for the past 60 years Black voters have been dazzled by every Dem pres candidate who ever ran, or were the votes also to keep the worst from happening? And white voters voted against Black progress. Ever since the civil rights act passed.

No. It wasn’t some quick, decontextualized snippet. The article has 70 words in it that you said, in order. It did not misquote you. I listened to the podcast, 41 min in. You said that Black leaders have been pillars of the establishment and a problem for the white left. Here’s the whole quote.
“The extent to which the older generation of Black political leadership are such a pillar, frankly, for establishment, capitalist, imperialist American power through their role as this kind of traditionalist, establishment-ist pillar of the Democratic Party, it’s a big problem,” Lawrence said around the 41:48 mark. “It’s a big problem for left politics in this country. And it gets us every single time. It really defangs the white left and puts us in impossible positions, really.”

Will’s opponents already wealthy like that.
They don’t hear or care about common people.”

I was told elsewhere it was taken out of context. More context about the podcast could’ve been given in the article, sure. But this seems a strange claim when it’s like 60-70 words in a row, exactly as reported. I actually went and listened to it.

Speaking of, well over 600,000 have died with the end of USAID, in just a few months - over 60,000 per month, and 2/3 of the deaths are children. The plan to end USAID was also published in Project 2025. www.impactcounter.com/dashboard?vi...

For those who thought they were throwing the vote to Trump for righteous children-saving reasons - USAID ending (which was planned/published in Proj 2025) has already killed 612,000 - so far. 2/3 are children. 60,000+ people are dying every 30 days. www.impactcounter.com/dashboard?vi...

This was a published plan for Trump in Project 2025, circulated widely last year. 611,000+ are dead so far, 2/3 of them children. 60,000+ people are dying monthly. It will be millions in a couple of years at this rate. Having this information and not voting to stop it is a moral failing.
The USAID program was ended by Trump. This was a published plan in Project 2025. Facts were widely known about the plan and impacts in 2024 before the election. Over 611,000 have died so far, in just a few months. 2/3 of the dead are children. This is over 60,000 every month. At this rate, multiple millions will die in a couple of years.

@billhayden65.bsky.social because vvhite people, especially vvhite men, are quite comfortable with MAGA rule? I think that’s a lot of it. Some are definitely not “enthused” to pull out all the stops to avoid it.

I think @gramadre62.bsky.social may be a MAGA operative. They said there’s no circumstance or timeframe under which congress should reopen and the legislative branch should remain shut down throughout trump’s entire term. I said that would make him a king, response was “he’s already a king in deeds”

That is truly horrible. It really is and I am serious. Voting entails hard choices. 88 people per hour are dying from USAID ending - 59 children per hour - based on this plan in Project 2025 which we knew about during the 2024 election cycle. At this rate it will be millions in a couple of years.
