The perfect windbreak? 1. Metal tipped poles 2. Material/canvas 'break' 3. 12 inch minimum pole length height above the break (to be hammered into sand/stones without 'crumpling' the break itself)

As a former World War Two sea fort, it is used to crashing waves, bitter winds and passing ships. This is the Principality of Sealand, a self-declared state 12km (eight miles) off the Essex and Suffolk coast. Clearly visible from Felixstowe if you head isn't down looking for sea glass
