#xpnCountdown Matthew Sweet & Susanna's cover albums Under The Covers are brilliant 🩷🤍🩷

#xpnCountdown nice version of Never Tear Us Apart. Dylan LeBlanc: wasn't on my radar.

@kristenkurtis.bsky.social #xpnCountdown "quirky & bizarre (if that was the word)" - I object! The 885 top was mostly obvious. The 6000 are mostly my jam!.(I got 4/10 - no sour grapes!) - Lieve

#xpnCountdown looking for a 4000 cover playlist? Previously on Spotify (canceled for political reasons) now split in two on QoBuz --> open.qobuz.com/playlist/411...

#xpnCountdown Good morning! Grant has a great cover album. This alternative countdown should be much more to my taste - I feel it already!! 😄

#xpnCountdown summer of 1978 - I barely remember it - the whole Van Halen first album on VERY high rotation. I recently bought it on CD again so I could blast it in my car - yeah!!!

#xpnCountdown I love that whole "If I were a carpenter" covers album.

#xpnCountdown Eddie can sing everything for me 🫠

#xpnCountdown the last 50 could be very predictable 😑 the first 150 are always fun because anything goes!!

#xpnCountdown "oh is this a cover?" No Doubt 🤮

#xpnCountdown Iron & Wine really pick great songs to cover 🩷

#xpnCountdown kinda done with Linda - but this is a classic! (She is suffering from the same disease that killed my dad, PSP 😢)

#xpnCountdown Oooh adore José Gonzalez - thanks for voting for this one!! 💕

#xpnCountdown there should be a limit on anything Grateful Dead

040

#xpnCountdown like this Fine Young Cannibals cover - fitted well in that era. But so high??

#xpnCountdown covers that sound SO similar to the original = what is the point??? (The Chain). Also, Joe Cocker is basically 95% a cover artist - he should have his own countdown, enough already.

#xpnCountdown Lana? Sweet cover but so high? Higher than Nina??

#xpnCountdown Siouxsie - classic. She was a runner up on my list - I reckoned she'd get plenty of votes - just like Sinead and Johnny Cash - you know what songs I'm talking about 😉

#xpnCountdown nobody can do Radiohead as well as Radiohead. This makes their magic so boring. Was this in a movie soundtrack?

#xpnCountdown well, seems I'm not the only one who likes this Slits cover 🤍

#xpnCountdown I've not completely given up - 3 songs made it - but any more is unlikely. I was very surprised to see 801 listed though!

#xpnCountdown ah Björk - i.dont really like this version - but it's Björk, what's not to like 🤍❄️

#xpnCountdown I think this cover of Venus has been played more than the original that I love!!

#xpnCountdown didn't know the Grateful Dead before I moved here from Europe. I still don't feel the need 😄🥱

#XpnCountdown both Scratch Your Back albums are wonderful. How to choose 1 track 🤔

#XpnCountdown Moon River = Henri Mancini. I don't think Audrey wrote songs - love her though.

#XpnCountdown Elliott Smith so high - nice!! Watched the documentary Heaven Adores you recently 💔

#XpnCountdown here is my number 1 - This Mortal Coil 🩷🩷🩷

#XpnCountdown that whole Johnny Cash cover album is brilliant

#xpnCountdown - U2? Did much better covers. So high? Weird.

#XPNCountdown Now THAT is what I call a true cover = making it your own! Chris Cornell "Billie Jean" 🖤

050

#xpncountdown - ah Wild is the Wind ..I nominated Billy MacKenzie's (the Associates) version. Seems my choices are too niche, yet again. We need a top 1000!

000

#xpncountdown quite a few surprises (Foodoo Fighters "Baker Street", Def Leppard "Personal Jesus", some old favorites (Aztec Camera "Jump", Wall of Voodoo "Ring of Fire"...) - still only two of my list made it so far ..

There it is: US taxpayers will pay for Trump's Gaza resorts - disguised as foreign aid.

I hear cries to boycott Target (cutting DEI) - some affected sellers suggesting to buy their products via Amazon/Walmart 🙄. I say: let's wait a minute. 🎯 has always been hot on the right-wing hitlist. 🎯 can still sell DEI products, no change there. Don't do the dirty job without knowing it!
