Taking (dragging) my little darlings out for a nature walk. It was much needed! We needed to get them away from their screens, encourage jovial dialogue and we were sure to pack tissues and snacks!

Cooler, overcast day. Have popped the sourdough pizza dough in the fridge to bulk ferment and it has struck me that perhaps my dough will be different due to changing temps and humidity. Let’s see!

This is also what my brother did! He ended up in the city, but engineering is close to his heart, so he wrote a cookbook for his daughters called the engineer’s kitchen! Wishing your son all the best for these truly exciting years!

About to dive into this Spanish meal! Butifarra amb Mongetes! This year it’s Cumberland sausages instead of butifarra. But the beans, the roasted tomato all evocative of the Spain we knew. In case you were in doubt, tonight, we support España!

Haricot beans sautéed in olive oil, sprinkled with minced garlic and then seasoned with chopped parsley and salt. Tomatoes, seasoned with fresh oregano and basil and roasted with a breadcrumb crust. And grilled Cumberland sausages.

I tried a new recipe to me for lunch yesterday. By Emily Cuddeford & Rachel Morgan, of 12 Triangles Bakery. They have a new book out that has grabbed my attention:Kitchen Table Simple Things Made Well. Glazed Carrots. The technique appealed to me, it was straightforward but packed a flavour punch!
