Daytime scene on a cloudy Sunday in late summer in a complex City beneath a section of a massive, multi-level, cantilever bridge that is over a hundred years old as it crosses over major roadways, a wide tidal strait, and another, smaller island to eventually connect to an adjacent City borough; the bridge carries eight lanes of automobile traffic - four on the upper deck and four on the lower deck, along with a lane for brave pedestrians and another for.brave cyclists; it is not the most pleasant bridge to walk or bicycle on, as the traffic can be deafening and the bridge has some bounce and lateral sway; the guardrails are also a bit suspect; however, walking or cycling here are some of the only free ways left ro connect between the two boroughs; expensive high-rise condos with balconies have a close-up view of the bridge and a close-up sound of ita noise; a black car crosses under the bridge on the elevated section of freeway, with its heavy concrete walls half-covered in ivy; the sky has become increasingly overcast and there many be light showers tonight.
