This is so wild to me, your work is so outstanding and SO unique I truly can't even imagine the reasoning ????

Niki Foley @baysalt.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Every company thinks they should be able to just make passive income as their only income now lol. Make new shows/movies/art? Nah, acquire a library of stuff that already exists and just ... idk... print money? Sounds great!!!

I dunno if it's bc I'm just overwhelmed by the scope, the movement differences, or what but I just am not vibing with Bubbly Basin v much!! Which sucks bc I WANT MORE POKOPIA FOREVER but... it's comforting in a wool sweater way - nice, but making my brain itchy!!

Anyway, on vacation I was walking from the outhouse using my phone flashlight when a Barred Owl flew utterly soundlessly through the beam in the dead of night, and it was the most incredibly stunning thing I've ever seen lol

I just opened Photoshop for the first time in a week after vacation and saw THIS EVIL THING in the top corner. Might be old but it's my first time seeing it so, for those who are curious:

I'm watching @halfmoonjoe.com play Oregon Trail 2 and when I was a kid I would just spend the whole time buying supplied piecemeal before the trip and I think that would be exactly as fun to me at age 42 as age 12

My work nowadays is not particularly fun for posting (yet!) but the one cartooning bright spot is that out store's mascot is a pigeon and sometimes I get to draw her for my own enjoyment lol

the swamp of despair (from 2018)

A graph titled “The Creative Process” showing a cute pumpkin girl going through stages of making something. She starts out high up, “I just had the best idea!!!” and starts sliding down a hill “this isnt as simple as I expected.” She winds up in The Swamp of Despair (two skulls say: “this part sucks! don’t give up!”) She says, “this sucks, I suck. Why am I wasting my time.” She crawls her way out of the swamp “it’s not perfect but I’m going to finish” and crests the final hill, “it’s done??? I lived???” Finally, she walks away from it all, glittering with pride. “This turned out pretty good!”

I am FIRMLY a 3 at best, maybe 4, and my art process feels more like fishing than drawing; I just start throwing things that fit the emotion or humor I am going for and then when I get a bite I reel it in lol

I'm back to working with paint again at my dayjob and I feel like I'm back in art school again I haven't worked fully traditional in like 20 years and I am VVVVV used to using digital mockups for everything.... It is PAINFULLY clear I am not very good at this yet LOL
