Fortune’s Weave is proving why Engage was a dessert game. In just 4 hours of FW, I’ve already become sucked into this world with the myriad of characters and motivations. 50+ hours into Engage and I never felt any depth to the setting or events.

Alright, binged the entirety of Fell Xenologue in Engage. I was gonna stop and resume after some sleep, but then I learned I was on the last chapter. My take on this bizarre DLC campaign. It was meh. Gameplay was fantastic, Chapter 5 was the hardest, and the “”story”” was something.

Looking at my refined game schedule I reworked it to make sure I finish some things in time for the new game influx: -Kinkoi Golden Loveriche -Fire Emblem Engage Trails will wait, mainly because since I played FC and SC the originals, I can take my time on the remakes.

Okay I can’t shut up about it but Engage might have been the best palette cleanser after grinding so many long JRPGs and VNs. The enemy will never be ballin’ enough for the strategy of this-shouldn’t-work-but-it-keeps-succeeding!

Engage’s gameplay loop is basically find an Emblem, go “wow, this is busted”, and repeat that each time you get a new one. I feel like even the bad Emblems are game changers. Each one is an exercise is tactical genius + stupidity.

Kinkoi progress! I finished Elle’s route. Very sweet to see the story wrap up in a sugary way. A very good full circle on going from being dependent on a relationship to being equal without breaking what is there.
