This sets up Dublin to be a city of shifting bodies and voices connected to one of throat, which feels so unique when compared to say the literary monolith of "London" or the individuality of those hustling in the likes of New York.

There's a lot of sharing in the novel so far which has a real page-turning effect, you want to sit there and watch the transformation between the people and places and conversations to see what they become out of sheer nosiness.

The way each character voice transitions into another is so cool. In one conversation with a woman who's giving off about the vulgarity of the protest downstairs (in the same building as her home!), her voice becomes the main protest speaker so seamlessly that you forget who owns what dialogue

Picked up Keith Ridgway's Dooneen and there's already so much to love 100 pages in! There's a small section where Mew goes to visit his family home and this line made my whole body reverberate

Always very strange when people roll their eyes about how stupid and out of control kids are nowadays instead of being extremely alarmed about all the ways in which kids are being failed that's lead to their mental deprivation

(I also think it's just way way more interesting to play at being a robot/cyborg/alien than actually falling into the factory line so to speak with no design feats of your own)

I appreciate that for KPP and Perfume their whole schtick is the sort of cyborg/robot/alien lean-in, but set aside all the moral concerns and it looks lazy and uncreative beside their previous work. I feel less connected and inspired to the worlds they make when I spot the AI stands out so badly.

I DO however find it extremely sad to see KPP and co. lean into AI for their videos. They've been trendsetters for a decade+ with just the power of sheer human creativity alone, it's just totally unneeded and takes away from the technical feats that they do manage to produce.

I disagree somewhat, but mostly because of what it omits rather than what it states (which is limited in a podcast). They're right that the scaremongering and moralising about porn should be reserved for the markets it exists in and the means in which it's delivered rather than anyone else!!

I'm excited to see what GW3 cooks up movement and visual wise, I really loved dodging and dynamic movement in PvP for GW2!!

Also, it's a little unfortunate that something "looking like an MMO" is insinuated to seeming out of touch. GW2 and FFXIV are incredibly beautiful and visually unique games, less can be said for the generic FPS and RPG titles GW3 visually is now compared with.

There's definitely a good deal of bloat in MMOs for sure, but part of why I enjoy an MMO is because of what you get out of one for your time commitment, particularly narratively.
