Picked up Keith Ridgway's Dooneen and there's already so much to love 100 pages in! There's a small section where Mew goes to visit his family home and this line made my whole body reverberate

A picture of a book passage with a quote marked that reads "I hope every time to return home as someone different, someone impressive. But I am always the fool they expect."

Playing the new Fire Emblem and the sigh of RELIEF when she came on the screen I am nothing if not a walking stereotype 💅

#FFX and #FFXIV seem like polar opposite games when it comes to their frankness about the power of romantic love to change the world. It's no wonder then, that in FFXIV's 'Final Fantasy Theme Park', X rarely gets a mention. What is it about X that moves us so much? Read (or listen) below... 🔻

Eventually, you reach a point where there is nothing grand left to save. In You Have Suffered Enough, I talk about the power of romance and why development teams should commit wholeheartedly to its exploration. Take a read (or listen!) below 🔻 #FFXIV #FinalFantasyXIV

Even when #FFXIV tries to tackle romantic love, it comes baked in with a way for them to deny it later. In You Have Suffered Enough, I take couplings we see in FFXIV and measure them against each other. Do any of these couples have a significant love story worth telling? #FinalFantasyXIV

Ordered an item from a UK store for my partners birthday (which was yesterday) that said it would take 3 days to arrive. It's been 8 since I ordered it, and was shipped from America (?) and flew into Dublin, then went to Stansted and sat there all weekend and is now BACK in Dublin??? GIRLLSSSS

BattleMarcIV 🏍️ @battlemarc.me · 09/09/2026

We finally cleared Tyrant yesterday. I don't want to raid anymore. Please let it end.

Having a disgusting / hilarious / depressing time with Felvidek right now! I love a beautiful game that can swing its pendulum between the absurd and the gritty, the stupid and the serious so quickly it'll make your head spin 🌀 @brozef.bsky.social 🤝 @ganaj.bsky.social

Finished Absolum tonight with my love 🐸⛏️ It's a very fun game and the visual noise as you reach the end from the overpowered skills lends itself to a very goofy time :3 Karl and Brome are best boys!

🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨 ...im just gonna float away :3 #ffxiv

BattleMarcIV 🏍️ @battlemarc.me · 20/06/2026

Finished Box Hill the other day! I enjoyed it quite a lot, and I *think* I prefer it to Pillion, but they might as well be different stories. It's a fascinating relationship to document, and made me really think about what it means to have autonomy. Also deeply unsexy which is a fun angle to take!

BattleMarcIV 🏍️ @battlemarc.me · 17/06/2026

Tip Toe had all the subtlety of a sledgehammer but it absolutely mimics the climate of the current moment. Most of the criticisms of it are from people who are on the outside looking in or are proving its thesis statement with inflammatory (and illiterate) commentary

Can you hear the sound of the church bells? 💒🔔 @pluuttoo.bsky.social and I will be getting married in about 15 minutes (6pm) and you're more than welcome to join the stream to see us get hitched 💕 www.twitch.tv/battlemarciv #FFXIV

BattleMarcIV 🏍️ @battlemarc.me · 10/06/2026

My bf is very annoyingly the most beautiful person alive and plays video games better than me so I'm very glad I've tricked them into marrying me heuheuheuheuhe💖✨

BattleMarcIV 🏍️ @battlemarc.me · 10/06/2026

If you attend, the FFXIV devs very kindly give out special minions to celebrate the event to every attendee in the server (obviously stream attendees don't count <3)

BattleMarcIV 🏍️ @battlemarc.me · 10/06/2026

Friends! My beloved @pluuttoo.bsky.social and I are having a very silly #FFXIV wedding that you, YES YOU are invited to! 🎂 DETAILS: When: 13th June, 6pm BST Where: East Shroud X:17, Y:18, Cerberus Attire: Formal, but no pressure 🤵 Stream link: www.twitch.tv/battlemarciv

A very tacky and poorly made photoshopped wedding invite

Backrooms was shiteeeeee sorry to everyone enjoying it but I'm a hater (It was actually just mediocre on every level rather than shite but saying it's shite is more fun) I am however glad for any new film that tries something different even if I really didn't like what it did with what it had

Haven't had that much fun with an RPG in years :3 Very much looking forward to spreading the love ❤️

030

The final 25% of the game is DIFFICULT without a guide. Think 'invisible walls with little to no hint that only spawn at certain times of day' difficult. You're best using a guide and truthfully the game itself encourages it narratively. Just gonna be a game I'm thinking of for a long LONG time.

That being said, the craftsmanship is on an entirely other level. Just pure love from start to finish for the medium. The story themes were incredibly up my alley, and the way it weaves its game design and mechanics into its metacritique about video games and us as players is FASCINATING.

130

The game itself has VERY inflammatory things it wants to say about games and art in general that I'm in two minds about. One of these core philosophies is undermined by a group of its own characters in a subplot. Would be great to hear the devs reflect on that having had time away from the game.
