I’ve added an Apple TV show to my watchlist when it comes out, called Pluribus - about the most miserable woman on the planet saving humanity from a happiness plague. Love the concept, looks like a dark comedy #scifihour

caught up on Gen V & Invasion finales, can’t wait for the next season of The Boys now. Invasion was good, nice wrap up #scifihour

just seen a sequel to a book I consumed on audible is free, so going to give that a try. The Downloaded 2: Ghosts in the Machine by Robert J Sawyer. 1st book is pretty good #scifihour

finished Thin Air by Richard Morgan, very good, hard boiled street level sci-fi #scifihour

here for #scifihour, although it’s been a quiet sci-fi week really

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 16/10/2025

oh I did catch Tron Ares this week, it was fine but not good enough to restart the franchise. Shame I was hopeful but was a pretty weak plot, with fun action mixed in. I wouldn’t rush to watch it #scifihour

110

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 16/10/2025

I’m assuming it is the season finale of Invasion on Apple tomorrow. Liked this season a lot, new or at least different aliens in the mix… questions answered but new ones raised, solid sci-fi #scifihour

after our fluffy boy passed we did some soul searching & decided to stay put & not sell the house for now. Wife is onboard with looking for a small holding, prob in Wales in a few years #scifihour

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 16/10/2025

decided to jump into another Richard Morgan book, Thin Air. I do like his pulpy sci-fi style, this one is based on Mars & a odd couple investigation #scifihour

here for #scifihour celebrating the first night of my holiday (at home) Wahay!

on a more positive note, I saw a video on all the adaptations of Issac Asimovs work, I didn’t realise there had been so many over the years. Most seem to want to mess with the original plots though unfortunately #scifihour

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 09/10/2025

I did watch a scary video about AI, and a respected expert predicting how AI will evolve & eventually we are toast … not good #scifihour

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 09/10/2025

Here for #scifihour, it’s been a quietism sci-fi week for me

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 02/10/2025

Tron Ares, comes out in a week or so - I’m kinda liking what I’ve seen so far just hope the script delivers #scifihour

110

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 02/10/2025

there are some old sci-fi classics on YT that I used to watch in bed to doze off to. Think it would be good to work from a list so I don’t just end up rewatching the ones I remember #scifihour

110

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 02/10/2025

I finished Thirteen, really enjoyed it, if you like Morgan’s pulpy sci-fi then it’s defo worth checking out. spent rest of the week catching up on Conspiracy pods #scifihour

Did I say that the wife has come round to the idea of relocating to somewhere a bit more off grid with land once our lads finish college? Been looking at highlands in Scotland, looks right up my street. Might be a bit close to the nukes though #scifihour

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 25/09/2025

how’s your PC coping as the weather starts to get fresher? I’m enjoying it, much prefer a breeze to a suntan #scifihour

Just need to double check your universal ID before you can be allowed access to those books 🤣 #scifihour

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 25/09/2025

Still reading Thirteenby Richard Morgan, I should have finished it but crazy work week. Think I may be lagging on my Peacemaker viewing too #scifihour

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 25/09/2025

Gen V has started ok, it was kinda inevitable that they needed to put them all back in the school. Have to admit I was less interested in the characters than I was the Godolkin backstory / mystery #scifihour

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 25/09/2025

Finale of Alien Earth was decent, it’ll be interesting to see how they make it work in S2. #scifihour

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 25/09/2025

My balls are tingling so must be time for #scifihour

000

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 18/09/2025

Really digging the Alien Earth direction, captures that Ridley Scott style & embraces the nature is brutal & beautiful themes #scifihour

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 18/09/2025

I’m v.much still enjoying Richard Morgan’s Thirteen. Doesn’t quite have the feel of Altered Carbon but it is still a vivid, brutal & all too realistic future world #scifihour

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 18/09/2025

Really enjoying peacemaker S2, defo sci-fi with alt realities. Still really funny at times. Not started Gen V yet, but it’s on the to-do list. Anygood so far? #scifihour

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 18/09/2025

Here for #scifihour but 1 handed as dog is sitting on my other hand 🤣 good sci-fi wk, Alien Earth & Foundation we’re good, although I was a bit underwhelmed by big reveal

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 11/09/2025

Commeth the #scifihour Been a decent sci-fi wk, Alien Earth, solid Ep., Foundation ramping up to the finale. Finished Underdog, decent sci-fi / cyberpunk fun. Just started Thirteen by Robert Morgan, I’ll have to check who is narrating as it’s who did a lot of Banks books & I really like his VO.

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 28/08/2025

Well think I am going to head to bed early, just 1 more work day then 9 days off… woohoo! Hope you have an awesome w/end full of sci-fi gloriousness’ness #scifihour #ciao4now

000

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 28/08/2025

This week I started a new book, Underdog (Hackers of Artem) by Lars Machmuller. A fun Cyberpunk romp so far. TV is good right now, Alien: Earth, Foundation, Revival finale, Peacemaker, Star Trek SNW (bit Meh), Upload … helps wifey subscribes to all the streams #scifihour

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 14/08/2025

Not about for #scifihour tonight as out for a family scoff. Quick Ep1 Alien: Earth review, decent, it was a good setup episode. We know a chunk of the main players & can already see the weaknesses of the hybrids. Love that the style is of the original Alien movie.

010

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 07/08/2025

Prob gonna be a bit late to #scifihour this wk, as still out at the mo

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 31/07/2025

And finally caught up with Star Trek Strange New Worlds, Ep.3. It was fine, I mean zombies are always great. They just need tap some proper sci-fi writers, plenty of ST fans who are writers. Less romance, more exploration of new life & civilisations plz #scifihour

010

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 31/07/2025

Damnit, nearly forgot I watched Fantastic Four this week. I absolutely lurved the aesthetic, gave me flashbacks to old 60s sci-fi films they would show late at night. Beautiful film. As a comics & sci-fi nerd it really hit the spot. #scifihour

010

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 31/07/2025

Also restarted fasting, about 16 - 17 hrs, restricting calories too. Hopefully shift so,e weight & also get some of the health benefits they mention in studies. Only 5 days in but normally days 3 & 4 are the hardest so fingers crossed, over the hump! #longevity #scifihour

010

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 31/07/2025

Finished course 1 of 16 of an AI learning path, long way to go but it’s v.interesting. I’m glad I am studying again, feels good to exercise zee little grey cells, yes! #scifihour

020

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 31/07/2025

TV wise, more Rick & Morty, Revival & Foundation. And just because I mentioned Magnifico, someone called that rocks up. I have a theory on how they are going to play this twist, interesting to see if I am right #scifihour

000

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 31/07/2025

I finished Where the Axe is buried, by Ray Nayler. It’s sat with me a few days now & I’d highly recommend it, intelligent cyberpunk sci-fi - worth checking out. No new book selected yet, any recommendations? #scifihour

110

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 31/07/2025

just back from a stellar walk with the pup to be a touch late for #scifihour, how is what passes for life out there?

111

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 24/07/2025

this weeks episode of Revival has just started to add the sci-fi sauce to the horror banquet, good stuff! Rick & Morty was a fun episode, a little homage to Minority Report #scifihour

000

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 24/07/2025

I do have a question for this weeks #scifihour … whatever happening to cloning? I don’t hear diddly about it anymore, I’m sure I was promised cloning vending machines for body parts #scifihour

100

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 24/07/2025

on the final chapter of Where the Axe is buried, by Ray Nayler It’s v.good. I was surprised, it reads like sci-fi from Chinese authors, no bad thing. Thought provoking, AI PMs, quantum entanglement, state control & resistance. If you like a deeper cyberpunk I’d highly recommend it. #scifihour

020

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 24/07/2025

Running a little late for #scifihour as had to take the flumps round the block. how’s our wonderful world of sci-fi tonight?

000

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 21/07/2025

Started Tomorrow and I on Netflix, it’s like a Thai Black Mirror. I did have a genuine LoL moment in Ep1, with the cloning place called Sheep Happens #scifihour #cyberpunk #dolly

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 17/07/2025

Right heading off a bit early as I am starving so need the magic of toast. have a great w/end & hopefully the evil ball of flames calms down a bit & your PC can cope! Cheers #scifihour #Ciao4Now

BatFonz @batfonz.bsky.social · 17/07/2025

TV wise, Rick & Morty, Revival continue to be great. Watched the S3 premiere of Foundation, it was good but the jury’s out on the Mule. Always hard when the book went a specific way, I’m hopeful they will create a different unique twist to compensate. #scifihour
