I'm sure she is ill and certainly not faking but she's simply not "severe" if she's in full-time work. Unless she's being paid to lie in a dark, silent room everyday. You sound like a lovely friend but it looks to me that your instincts were right.

Cofnas was critical - often dishonestly so - in his opinions of Professor Jason Arday which many speculate played a significant role in his Arday's death. State of Minnesota Proclamation: MECFS Day May 12th

WHEREAS: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), commonly known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), or ME/CFS, is a
devastating multi-system disease that causes dysfunction of the neurological, immune, endocrine, and energy
metabolism systems; and
WHEREAS: This incapacitating disease is characterized by a severe exacerbation of symptoms following any form of
exertion, which is understood to be an inability to properly generate energy within cells, leaving at least 25
percent of patients home or bed-bound; and
WHEREAS: ME/CFS affects an estimated 1.5 million American children and adults of all ages, races, income levels, and
geographic areas, costing our economy $17 - $24 billion annually, including up to 40,000 people living in
Minnesota costing our state economy $288 - $407 million annually; and
WHEREAS: This number is ever-increasing as more people contract ME/CFS in Minnesota, and similar symptoms are being
reported by those experiencing long COVID; and
WHEREAS: People with ME/CFS have a lower quality of life measurements than any other disease tested, including
multiple sclerosis, late-stage AIDS, and chemotherapy cancer treatments, and there is currently no diagnostic
test, no FDA-approved treatment, and no cure; and
WHEREAS: Minnesota has leading universities, hospitals, and medical research centers that may be able to contribute to
finding improved diagnostics, treatments, or a cure for ME/CFS; and
WHEREAS: Studies suggest ME/CFS can be the leading chronic illness leading to extended absences from work and
schools for both students and teachers; and
WHEREAS: On this day, there will be hundreds of global virtual and in-person events to help bring greater awareness of
