The latest episode of Always Sunny, the Gilligan’s Island one, was genuinely so bad & incoherent I couldn’t finish it. I had to skip almost half the episode. Absolutely amazed they made it as-is, and considering the effort they put in to the costumes and new sets to recreate the old show. So weird.

I think it’s funny how the upcoming Clayface movie is really exciting and everyone is into it (I certainly am!) when literally that is what Sony has been trying to do with Spidey’s rogues for years but the best they could do was one Venom action comedy where the buddy duo was Tom Hardy.

Finished season 1 of Pluribus. Great stuff. Way better than severance and silo (not as exciting but more substantive and actually pays things off). Rhea Seehorn giving proper Karen energy. Very compelling stuff.

When Shane Black wrote Nice Guys, he read a bunch of old hardboiled detective novels no one had heard of. He found some really great clues in them and wanted to put some directly into his script. So he tracked down the authors’ families and paid them thousands of dollars for the right to do so.

I keep trying to watch lanterns but I can’t get through the first episode. Wenh i sit there rejecting the conceptual execution of a pitch, rewriting it in my head as I watch, I decide “it’s not for me”, stop my masochistic curiosity and move on. Maybe I’ll come back and try it again one day.

The Odyssey really was something else. My estimation of Nolan has gone up so high. It’s a like when I saw Inglorious Basterds or No Country for Old Men, where I just am, “ok, I am abandoning my baggage, they’re gonna cook and it’s going to be great”. Fantastic.

I saw Brand New Day which, while wonderfully directed in a distinct way that heightens its emotional sensitivity, I presume has been given a deliberately ironic title since the movie is a direct sequel mired in the previous film’s events which it spends two hours resetting back to how it was before.

My hill that I will die on is that the reason the MCU hasn’t seen X-Men or mutants is because the MCU is Moira’s eleventh life and she deliberately kept all mutants outside of the limelight until the world got used to the superheroes through the avengers so humans wouldn’t be bigoted to mutants.
