The server was an old VPS with a shared Xeon and network IO. 8v cores. We hit our 1GB connection limit at 500 connections Our hard work has paid off, and it's the best it's ever run!

after a bit of fighting with the new server today we were able to break the previous record and get up to 125 users before the server died, still plenty more work to do here. It is the same tiny droplet on digital ocean. thanks to everyone who showed up!
