Trump is offering voters $5k if Republicans win the midterms. If Democrats would support the Make Billionaires Pay Act, authored by Bernie Sanders and Ro Khanna, they could proudly counter with "$5k? This may be the most important thread you will read for the next while: Regardless of nation or which province you live in, or your political, we should be pushing our politicians on this point: unconditional universal basic income works as intended. It does not reduce labour or create freeloaders.

If I made $200,000 a day & had no more money worries, what would I do with that money? That would be about $73,000,000 a year. I would start small with feeding & housing every homeless person in my community, even if it meant giving them a monthly universal basic income. Just as a start.

Universal Basic Income - putting money into the hands of the poor will fix a hell of a lot of the problems in this society. It's even the most economically conservative way to help our country. Every dollar put into the hands of the poor goes back into the economy.

If I got Universal Basic Income, I would pay taxes with it. Barring a calamity, I think my retirement will see me through. Sure, having more money is always a "nice to have" That's not what UBI is for. UBI is gives everyone basic survival, so they can build from that instead of from underwater.

Inequality is strongly linked to most societal ills. Drug abuse, crime, obesity, life expectancy, teen pregnancy, all of these are made worse by greater inequality. We should tax billionaires out of existence and institute a truly universal basic income.

UBI (Universal Basic Income) allows a person to do work that they enjoy and care about, rather than working just to survive. And honestly, if someone gets UBI and doesn't want to work at all, I'm 100% okay with that. The number of people who wouldn't work would not negatively impact the workforce.
