Got back from watching Akira in IMAX (amazing) and discovered that Withering Realms is available to play now, it’s a fucking blast so far.

It was a lot of fun! Not as good as Rise imo, but I still had a really good time with it. Super gross and mean as hell, just as it should be.

Obsession was absolutely fantastic. Inde Navarrette is inhuman in her acting abilities. Legitimately fucking terrifying movie.

Return to Silent Hill fucking sucked lmao. Absolutely baffling and insane story changes. So much unused and actually terrifying shit from the games in order to shove in nonsense. Eddie and Angela totally wasted as characters, and Laura turned into something so dumb. Music was good at least.

#horrorsky #filmsky #moviesky CW: Gore, Violence Seriously though, it has some really awesome sequences that I adore. I am a sucker for body horror.

#NowWatching time for a fun one. Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell (1995) A real indie production - a Japanese 'Evil Dead'-like, but with psychic powers and a Japanese bodybuilder. It has a lot of charm, and love goes out to Shinichi Fukazawa for his decades long project. Machete's up for him 🔪🔪🔪

Watching Jerma play Arctic Eggs brought back some good memories of my first playthrough of that game. What an immaculate little game! So incredibly comfy, but tough as fucking nails. Beautiful writing, insanely good music, and it’s so GORGEOUS. I still get a little emotional at parts. 10/10

I’m seeing The Shining in IMAX tonight, should be fun! It’s been a bit since I’ve seen it last, and I’ve been meaning to do a rewatch, so this seems like the perfect way to revisit it.

Also 10/10 monster design; really nightmarish stuff. Only thing I would change about the movie is more screen time for the creatures, because they are SO weird and fucked up and cool.

Keeper was really fucking good. GORGEOUS movie that is absolutely dripping with an uncanny tension, and just so oppressive the entire way through. I know that Osgood Perkins isn’t for everyone, but I reaaaaally dig the incredibly putrid vibes he is able to conjure up.

the basement’s basement @basementsbasement.bsky.social · 15/11/2025

Agreed– I had a really good time with it and thought it was extremely oppressive and creepy as hell. Only thing I would’ve changed is more screen time for those *INCREDIBLY FUCKING COOL* monsters.

I should really get back into posting my game screenshots on here, the world is a hell nightmare and I was in a doomscroll vortex for a bit; but I have thousands of screenshots sitting across multiple systems that I could be sharing with people on here instead.

Similar thing happened to me but it was the cheat menu in the bedroom by the cabinet lmao. It asked for a passcode and I guessed the generic passcode for imsim games (0451) and it opened right up and offered up a couple full stats/health/items options 😅

Finished it last night (got 3 endings: both paths on Perfect Ritual + Imperfect Ritual) and REALLY enjoyed it. That game has a ton of fucking heart, and I got really attached to so many characters throughout. Think I’m gonna try Fear and Hunger 2, or Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass next!

They were talking about Skin Deep on the Besties last week and it sounds interesting! Im-sim made by the people who did Quadrilateral Cowboy, where you go around and save cats. It’s high up on my “to try” list lol.

I beat it for the first time recently as well! Had a great time with it. Super creepy and suspenseful, and so much of the mansion/grounds is absolute eye candy. Especially with the fixed angles they were choosing!
