60. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve It's not everyday you play a game that's so confident in itself that it fires on all cylinders every second of its runtime. Easily one of the best games of the year.

59. Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies I didn't love it as many others do, but it's a solid foundation that gets enough right. I really liked the B plot involving the kid and Yellow 13

As a heads up for folks in the Super Robot Wars community, the SRW subreddit's currently holding a poll in regards to whether AI translations be allowed on there or not. If you wanna make your voice known on that topic, I'd recommend paying it a visit: www.reddit.com/r/Super_Robo...

I don’t know how you can play this and come out by the end feeling nothing

Finished Ace Combat 8… What a fucking video game

Played through the first four missions of Ace Combat 8 and I don't remember the last I played a game this confident in itself

58. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown It was fun to see how the series had evolved from the first three games. The music was fantastic but the story was just alright. The checkpoints in this game are terrible and completely killed my hype and enjoyment of the final mission.

maybe I'll shelve FW for now and pick FE3 instead

I think Fire Emblem might be too big of a game for me to play right now...

Huh, I’ve only ever taken a public bus a handful of times so I guess I’ve never noticed

I naively assumed the buses in LA stopped at every stop on their route, but I guess that’s not the case and I’m now stranded

57. Digimon Beatbreak Pacing problems and a lack of screen time for certain characters aside, this show was a year long blast and I'm already missing it.

Can the random stat growths in Fire Emblem actually make or break a character by the end?

all you really do with this stuff is piss in the pool. super robot wars is again *very well served* in fan translation, is a massive job, and takes very specific knowledge (including of previous games in the same series, why are you doing 3 first?!) to write right. go farm bad clout somewhere else

I found the "No Games" meme people did for PS5 like really forced at the start of the gen, mostly since it was a rerun, but no they're like actively just not making games anymore.
