Only been trying to wrap my head around drum patterns. Haven’t touched the sampling really. I think that’s gonna be hella fun reversing vocals and melodies and making some cool sounds out of that. Can’t draw but I think eventually I could do some really cool things

Something I’ve always wanted to do was learn how to make Drum and Bass because of those old 1990s Toonami jumpers with the English dub over the beats. Or the really chill and atmospheric beats with Peter Cullen narrating over the jumper. I have a long way to go but I see the vision

I’m interested to see what kind of identity I’ll have over time and how it changes over time too. Right now I’m just learning the hardware and software and making simple loops as far as my knowledge of Maschine will take me which isn’t much.

So I bought this and this is pretty fun to use. I can’t draw, color or paint worth a damn but I think with time I can make some cool sounds. Way more intuitive than I thought. Only making 4-8 bar loops but I visualize (audiolize?) the sounds I want to make but not quite there yet.

Northlane did a HARD pivot towards EDM with guitars tuned to drop F and are now in their Trance Djent era and I love it. Something that I See Stars started but outside of Treehouse never really got it right, Northlane cracked the code. But all of Australia is just a dance party

Northlane is the biggest surprise to me and always will be and I love it. They came up with Periphery, Volumes, Tesseract, Veil of Maya, The Contortionist and the routes that they all took are so interesting. Some evolved and refined their sound.

It’s going to be a toss up between Slayyyter’s album and Northlane’s newest album. Can’t wait to hear the full album when it comes out. Crucified and Evian have been on repeat since they released. They’ve perfected EDM Metalcore. No one sounds like them.

I don’t think I’d want to be in a band that I’d have to focus too hard on what I’m doing but I think it’s hella neat to learn. I think it’d be fun to make music that’s closer to Basement, Balance and Composure, Movements, Citizen, Fleshwater. Or something closer to like Hail The Sun or Circa Suvive

Learning modern progressive metal has helped out a ton to become more proficient around the fretboard. I’m starting to not need long breaks after I learn something challenging because I understand wtf the guitars are doing. Irreversible is one of Erra’s easier songs and that’s crazy to me.

Little bit left to practice of Irreversible. That is probably the proggiest and hardest song I’ve learned so far. Something finally dethroning Reptile by Thornhill. Might be slightly harder than it too because there are some time signature changes and some tight syncopation.

Damn I forgot Solace by Northlane. That was a helluva level up song. I’ve learned a lot of Djent esque songs but I still feel like I haven’t learned many but I’m getting closer to it. The shapes and keys are starting to get easier to recognize even if I can’t explain it in words.

Hardest songs I’ve learned this year have been Belcarra by Spiritbox and The Mixture by Volumes. Now I’m working on learning Irreversible by Erra. This has been on my list to play ever since I was even thinking about playing an instrument. And it’s going really really well

Oh well. I hope season 3 there’s more of a streamlined them and arc and this was just laying the groundwork for the rest of the series. Season 2 of OG X-Men half of that season Charles and Magneto were in the Savage Land and that shit sucked but then Season 3 we got the Phoenix saga.

And the drama and tension is there for a Krakoa season to be interesting but they’re killing off characters too fast and I don’t think Marvel animation don’t really like slow burns. The tension of the Quiet Council and the governance was really interesting to read and could be GoT esque animated

Rise of Apocalypse could turn into Age of Apocalypse but it was basically 4 episodes then disjointed the rest of the season. Inferno of season 1 could’ve been a season as well. There was more cohesion and enough connective tissue to make the Bastion stuff work though.

My issue with X-Men 97 is it’s the closest thing to a animated adaptation of comics similar to anime and manga and they are FLYING through comic events that could slow burn a whole season like manga adaptations do and it’s so disappointing
