I’m deleting all the non essential stuff of my phone and that mostly means social media. Why? Because phones and social media in general have been designed to be addictive. Despite the fact that I would love to be a superior human I’m not immune to that. So, I have to stop entirely. ⬇️

I’m alive but I’ve been more interested in reading than social media. My TBR shelf has gotten full. I just finished Death Valley by Melissa Broder. Next, Beautyland by Marie-Helene Bertino. John biked to work today. I found wild plums while walking the dog & noted it in case of societal collapse.

Ugh…. I need to “break up” with my vegan friend. I’m starting to feel like her harassing me about my dietary choices and not accepting that my CVS makes me unable to have vegetarian proteins is sort of ableist.

Whatever illness I have is really taking a toll on me. I put on a house dress which was slightly too tight 3 days ago and is now somewhat too loose. Be safe out there. Wash your hands and all that.

I think I’ve decided these people might be trying to get us to kill ourselves en masse. That’s why this trauma machine of an administration keeps putting out 30 new devastating things a day. So, I’m going to keep pushing as long as I can to spite them. Still going to arrange a therapist too though.

We finally found some decent free shelves on Craigslist. I’m neurotic about not buying new things. I have it in my head we (humans) have enough stuff. However I needed some more shelves to make my studio work. I took two months but now I have them! No cost to me no new suffering for others. Woot!

The rise in illiteracy rates here in the US concerns me. I’ve read that one of the driving problems is a decline in people perfectly capable of reading choosing not to. So, I’ve decided to commit myself to reading for an hour everyday. As is I read when I think to but haven’t set a habit.

My dialect quiz. I was born in the Ozarks near Branson so this tracks. I do think that maybe I’ve leaned back into it over the last few years for nostalgic comfort. I don’t have contact with any of my family so maintaining it sort of reminds me of where I’m from.

One thing I didn’t expect when I moved here is how hard the dry air is on electronics. I was listening to a cd when I heard a loud pop then silence. It was my newly purchased stereo receiver, our 2nd since moving here. This reciever might be fixable but the last wasn’t. Static also took our PS3. 🤷‍♀️

I’ve decided that I’m going to offer the things I make for sale at a local venue monthly. I have conflicting feelings about selling things but I can’t hoard a lifetime of art, I want to meet other artists and it would be nice to share the things I make with the physical world again.

I have a goal: I want to only go shopping (grocery or otherwise) once a week. I spend wntirely too much time running to and from various stores. Growing up, my parents managed to make do with only a monthly shopping run. So, I can’t imagine we can’t manage cutting back to one weekly.

John is coming home from training a day early! I was “fine” without him here but it has been lonely… Plus, I didn’t sleep well which caused me to take my emergency meds and as a result slept more than I would have liked. I’m getting the main living space tidy then I’ll pick him up around 5. Woot!

I’ve been enjoying watching my jewel orchid blooms this week. This is the second year in a row. She’s so lovely. So I thought I would share. Sorry about the odd lighting. It’s due to plant lights and yellow bulbs I put in to give my place more of alate 70s to mid 80s feel. #houseplants

Today was a nice day. I went to the thrift, gor a pastry, continued to clean the house, brought Alfonzo to the garden and for a walk. There was a food truck event at the park we went to and Alfonzo received lots of pets from college students some a bit teary eyed from missing their dogs. #blog

I was a bit nervous to have the house to myself but yesterday was very nice. I watched most of Over The Garden Wall, started deep cleaning the kitchen and relaxed. Today I think I’ll spend some time thrifting then come home and work on some art. I hope everyone has a nice day. #blog
