They share a superpower: they do not change the original array, they return a new one. That predictability is why they sit at the heart of modern JavaScript and React. Learn the trio and your data transformations get shorter and clearer.

filter returns a new array with only the items that pass a test. Keep the ones in stock. Keep the adults. reduce folds an entire array into a single value. A total, an average, an object built up from a list.

JavaScript / map, filter, reduce Once these three click, you will stop writing so many for loops. map takes an array and returns a new one of the same length, with every item transformed. Prices to prices with tax. Users to user names.

The art is curating the smallest set of information that lets the model do the job reliably. An AI agent is only as good as what you put in front of it. Engineer the context, not just the wording. #aiautomation #contextengineering #aiagents #llm #promptengineering #barcelonacodeschool #aibootcamp

The right documents, the recent history, the tools it can call, the examples, the guardrails, and just as importantly, what to leave out. Feed it too little and it guesses. Feed it too much and it drowns, gets slower, and loses the thread.
110
Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 05/09/2026
Everyone talks about prompt engineering. The bigger lever is context engineering. A model can only reason about what it can see. The prompt is a small part of that. The real work is deciding what else goes into the window.
Poster: AI automation context engineering. Curate what goes into the model's window: documents, history, tools, examples, and what to leave out.

async/await is really just a cleaner way to write promises. Same machinery underneath, far easier to read and reason about. Non-blocking waiting. That's the trick that makes modern JavaScript feel fast. #javascript #webdevelopment #coding #asyncawait #nodejs #barcelonacodeschool #codingbootcamp

When the awaited work finishes, your function picks up exactly where it left off. This is what lets a single-threaded language stay responsive while it waits on the slow stuff: network requests, file reads, timers. The page doesn't freeze, because nothing is truly blocked.
100
Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 05/09/2026
await looks like it stops everything. It doesn't, and that difference is the whole point. When you await inside an async function, that function pauses and hands control back to the rest of your program. Other code keeps running.
Poster: JavaScript async and await. await pauses one function and hands control back so other code keeps running (non-blocking).

The takeaway is direct: put your most important items at the edges. Navigation, the key links go first and last, not buried in the middle. Onboarding, open strong and close strong. Presentations, your best point is never slide seven of twelve.
100
Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 03/09/2026
Show someone a list, and they'll remember the start and the end far better than the middle. That's the Serial Position Effect: primacy (we remember the first items, we had time to absorb them) and recency (we remember the last, they're freshest).
Poster: UX Serial Position Effect. People remember the first and last items best; put important items at the edges.

This isn't about distrusting the system. It's about giving it a safe space to be useful in. The more autonomy you grant, the more the guardrails matter. Autonomy without limits is not power. It is exposure. #aiautomation #automation #aiagents #guardrails #aisafety #barcelonacodeschool #aibootcamp

They come in layers: hard limits that cannot be crossed, approval steps above a threshold, validation on inputs and outputs, and logging so you can see what happened and why.
111
Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 02/09/2026
An automation that can do anything will eventually do something you did not want. Guardrails are the limits you put around a system before you let it run on its own: what data it can read and change, how much it can spend, who it can message, what it must never touch.

Bullets, enemies, particles, damage numbers. If it appears constantly, pool it. Reuse beats recreate. Your frame rate will thank you. #gamedev #gamedevelopment #indiedev #unity #gameprogramming #objectpooling #optimization #csharp #barcelonacodeschool #codingbootcamp

Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 02/09/2026
Object pooling fixes it. Instead of creating and destroying, you prepare a pool of objects up front. Need one? Take an idle object and switch it on. Done? Switch it off and return it. Nothing is created or destroyed, just reused.
111
Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 02/09/2026
Spawning a bullet is cheap. Spawning a thousand bullets a second, and destroying each one, is how you get stutter. Every create-and-destroy allocates memory, and later the garbage collector has to clean it up. Do that constantly and you get frame drops.

Good human-in-the-loop design does 95% of the work automatically and pauses for a quick yes or no on the 5% that matters. Speed on the safe parts. Judgment on the risky ones. #aiautomation #automation #aiagents #humanintheloop #businessautomation #ai #barcelonacodeschool #aibootcamp

Let automation do the repetitive, low-risk work: gathering data, drafting, sorting, formatting, moving things between systems. Put a human checkpoint on steps that are hard to undo: money leaving an account, messages to customers, anything irreversible.
110
Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 30/08/2026
Full automation sounds impressive. It's also how automations quietly send the wrong invoice to 400 people. The skill isn't automating everything. It's knowing which steps a machine should own and which a human should still approve.

Two rectangles overlap only if they overlap on the x axis AND the y axis. Miss on either and there's no collision. It's fast, cheap, and good enough for most 2D games: platformers, shooters, top-down adventures.

Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 29/08/2026
Before anything can hit anything in a game, the code has to answer one question: are these two objects touching? The simplest answer is AABB: axis-aligned bounding box collision. Wrap each object in a rectangle.

So start with one. Pick the process that's painful, repetitive, and clearly defined. Map it, automate it, then actually use it for a week. Watch where it breaks. Fix it. Only once it earns trust do you move to the second.

Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 27/08/2026
The most common way an AI automation project dies: trying to automate everything at once. Ten half-built workflows nobody trusts are worth less than one that runs every day without you.

The fix is delta time: the seconds since the last frame. Multiply movement by it. Now you move "300 pixels per second," and the result is the same everywhere, whether the machine renders 30 frames or 144.
100
Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 27/08/2026
Why does the same game run fine on one machine and sprint out of control on another? Frame rate. If you move a character "5 pixels per frame," a 120fps machine moves it twice as fast as a 60fps one. The game is now tied to the hardware, which is a bug.

=== is strict equality. It compares value and type, with no conversion. "5" === 5 is false, because a string is not a number. The rule: use === by default. Reach for == only when you have a specific reason and know exactly what coercion will happen.
100
Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 27/08/2026
Two equals signs or three? It's one of the first things that quietly breaks beginner code. == is loose equality. Before comparing, JavaScript converts both values to the same type. So 0 == "" is true, and 1 == true is true. Convenient, until it hides a real bug.
Poster: JavaScript strict equality. Use === by default; == does type coercion that hides bugs.

Every time you break a convention, you spend the user's attention on relearning instead of on your product. Sometimes that's worth it. Usually it isn't. Be original where it counts: your content, your product, your voice. Be conventional where it doesn't: nav, forms, icons, flows.
110
Barcelona Code School @barcelonacodeschool.com · 27/08/2026
Jakob's Law is the reason "just be original" is bad UX advice. Your users spend almost all their time on other websites and apps. That's where their expectations form. So on yours, they expect the cart icon top right, the logo linking home, the menu where every site puts it.
Poster: Jakob's Law. Users expect your site to work like the other sites they already know.

The fastest way to waste money on AI automation is to automate a process nobody mapped. Map every step first. You will find redundant and broken ones. Fix those, then automate. A broken workflow only fails faster at scale. #aiautomation #ai #automation
